Acid and Bases
How convenient, a little lesson on poison.
I assure you, there is no joy in witnessing
the fatal crack of severely used calculator,
and afterwards, feeling with raised hairs,
the chilly notes leak slowly out of
a blind pen into my equally
sightless brain.
Later, a forced couplet of elements
are plucked from the periodic table
and shoved strictly down
tortured glassware, afterwards,
sloppily poured into tubes
just as fragile as my interest.
I glowered with no small intent
so long that my planets turned dark,
looking down at the past, current, future,
a trip even I could admit,
could turn a heart set on rage,
to uncaring.
