Ohio is a place that only seems to be appreciated by its residents. Hence why us Ohioans continue to live here. I was recently faced with a thought-provoking question that came from a random person I sat with on a flight back from California. The question was: Why would anyone go on a vacation to Ohio?
And this question was one that made me really think. Why would anyone go on a vacation to Ohio? What is there even to do in Ohio? Has anyone actually gone on vacation to Ohio?
Despite the many boring corn field-filled areas of this state, there are indeed things to do here. And so, here are some of the possible vacation spots and tourist attractions of Ohio.
Note: The Cincinnati Zoo has not been included in this list due to the tragic death of our lord and savior, Harambe.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Cleveland, OH
This amazing landmark could have been placed in Memphis, Cincinnati (OH REPRESENT), Philadelphia, Detroit, or even New York City. But of all these places, it was Cleveland that was chosen due to the $65 million pledged by the city to fund public construction, and the overwhelming number of supporters that wanted the hall of fame located in Cleveland. If Rock and Roll or music is something that has fascinated or moved you in your lifetime, this is a great place to visit.
Cedar Point; Sandusky, OH
Nick-named the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point is arguably the best amusement park there is. With 18 roller coasters and 71 total rides, Sandusky lucked out with not only an amazing tourist attraction, but something that has had a long-lasting positive impact on the city's economy.

It's the simple things that make this island beautiful. While you won't find any cell phone service, you will certainly find fun things to do such as boating, fishing, eating the fish you caught, trying a world famous Brandy Alexander from the Village Pump, enjoying the vast amount of drunk old people that stumble around this island, or simply enjoying the views on the water.
South Bass Island; Put in Bay, OH
Another beautiful Lake Erie Island. If you ask locals what there is to do around here, they will likely finish chugging their drink and point you to the nearest bar. Otherwise, there is also Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial which commemorates the Battle of Lake Erie which took place near South Bass Island.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (& Zoombezi Bay); Powell, OH
Widely known as one of the best zoos in the United States, this place houses over 7,000 animals including more than 800 species. In addition to the amazing sights you will see at the zoo, you can also take a swim at the waterpark next door, Zoombezi Bay!
Pro Football Hall of Fame; Canton, OH
A great place to go for not only football fans, but also fans of sports in general. While museums are not always fun to look at, going inside the Pro Football Hall Of Fame reminds you of what it truly means to be great.
National Museum of the U.S. Air Force; Dayton, OH
With over 360 aircrafts and missiles on display, this museum contains a wide collection of many rare aircrafts of historical or technical importance. A quality museum for those interested in the history of the US Air Force or those interested in planes or engineering.
