Ask yourself this question, what are some things you're scared about from your transition from high school to college? Well as an incoming Freshman in college, I can relate to some of your fears. The first scare that always comes to mind is that you go from four years of high school being free to four years of college costing you thousands upon thousands of dollars. If you're anything like me, you wish you got paid for going to school which sadly will never happen, a let down right? Another scare is being late to class which in my high school there were only two hallways of classes so if you were late to class you either ditched or you were too busy making out with your girlfriend in the hall. Again if you're like me you have time management problems, so for your sake I would always leave early for classes so you're never late.
A lot of people fear they're not smart enough for college because in high school as long as you did the minimum you were Harvard ready. Let this sink in: if you weren't smart enough you wouldn't have been accepted into college. You don't have to be Albert Einstein to do well in college, you just have to put all your effort in to do well. For me, being a Nursing major, I can't get by with just the minimum and by watching Netflix, I have to put in the most effort I have and you should do the same, slacker. Before college, you went through Elementary, Middle and High School with most of the same people so you know them almost as much as you know the lyrics to Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself". College is a whole different story where you will know either nobody or less than 3 people so you better get out of our bubble and make friends.
You've gone from the top of the chain at High School back to the bottom of the chain in college where you can start fresh and not be known as the girl who took her cousin to the Senior prom but as "insert name here".
P.S. No I did not take my cousin to my Senior prom it was just to get my point across.
