Macklemore released his newest album, "Gemini," a few months ago. Its run-time clocks in at just over an hour and is packed with 16 new amazing songs.
This is Macklemore’s first solo album in over a decade. I will be honest and say I wasn’t sure how it would go without the assistance of Ryan Lewis. It was that duo’s music which brought me to his music. But I am glad to say that "Gemini" is as solid as an album can be and is one that deserves all the praise people can afford to give it.
What doesn’t deserve praise is me. The last few weeks have been a serious struggle for me… I’ve had to deal with shit that would (I assume) excite most but all it's done is weigh me down. It’s hard to escape stuff residing in your head. You just can’t do it. Luckily something that has helped is music. I’ve had the chance to listen to "Gemini" and many other albums that have helped me escape burdening thoughts.
With all the time I’ve spent listening to "Gemini"I thought it would be fair to share with you my ranking of songs on the album and hopefully encourage you to check it out, too.
Also note this ranking is totally biased as I have 0 experience with with the technicalities of music-making.
16. "Miracle" featuring Dan Caplen.
15. "Zara" featuring Abir.
14. "Marmalade" featuring Lil Yachty.

Now, as I said, take this with a grain of salt. And like all things that are great, when it got close to the end, it became really hard to choose which one to put where. Maybe you'll agree, maybe not — but that's life, right?
