Over the past week or so, these hashtags have been flying through social media. But, in all actuality, what is "breaking the internet?" I personally believe that this new trending topic is one of the best things that has happened to the young community. Instead of having ridiculous arguments on Twitter about subtweeting or being indirect, people are actually coming together, complimenting each other, and finding a common ground to enjoy.
My purpose of this article was to explain a few things. Because it's 2016, people find the need to justify unnecessary arguments. "It's 2016, people don't do ____ anymore!" This is ridiculous. Especially in the African American community, people tend to bring some down more than others... when, in all actuality, that should't be the case. On June 25th, Tyriece Watson, better known as Baltimore native "Lor Scoota" was fatally shot and killed after leaving a charity basketball game. Scoota was best known for his 2014 hit "Bird Flu." The incident appeared to be targeted. With this being said, something has to give.
The Twitter hashtag is an amazing start to a beautiful revolution. If men and women could stop worrying about what the next had going on, and start encouraging, complimenting, and understanding others, the world would be a happier place!
