If you've been living under a musical rock it was the year of #TK15.
Tori Kelly was nominated for "Best New Artist" at this year's Grammy's. Alongside her were musicians Courtney Barnett, James Bay, Sam Hunt and Meghan Trainor, who ended up winning the title despite people's protestations that she was not new enough. References to her 2014 hit "All About That Bass" have people up in arms about the award being given to someone who doesn't seem as big of a rookie as perhaps Tori Kelly who just debuted her first album in June of 2015.
Considering Meghan was nominated last year for both "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year," the critics might just be justified in their hostility towards the Grammy's choice.
Post-announcement, Twitter was storming with outrage.
This last tweet makes a reference to Kelly's popular vocal levels and strength when it comes to singing live. She's arguably the best in the business right now.
But if you don't know about these amazing skills maybe you'll recognize them here:

And if you're still not convinced:
Tori has taken off within the past year with her "Where I Belong" Tour, multiple award show appearances, and major radio air time for her newest single "Hollow." And although she may have been snubbed by the Grammy's, this isn't the first time she's had to struggle and show continuous perseverance for recognition. Simon Cowell called her voice "almost annoying" on season nine of "American Idol!" (Who's laughing now?)
Fans are going crazy, but there is only more to come of Tori. She has had her fair share of experience with #thehustle and she will continue to prove to the world she is truly the next best thing and a true artist.
Congrats to Meghan Trainor and good luck to Tori in the future.
