In the 2018 NBA Draft it paves the way of a new type of Centers. Back in the day when a seven footers shoots the ball rather than post up they get scolded by their coach and get benched. Now in this new style of basketball these old school Centers are slowly disappearing. Instead a new breed of Centers are coming to the NBA and this draft shows it. My top three players in this years NBA Draft two of them are the new Bigs. There also happens to be a Euro player who people say could be the next great foreign player in the NBA since Dirk Nowitzki
1. DeAndre Ayton
DeAndre Ayton is one of those new Centers. He's a seven footer whose long, athletic and has plenty of power to attack the rim. he also can shoot the ball from the outside. Ayton needs to improve defensively, but most around the league believe he has all the tools to be a quality rim protector given time and coaching. His physical gifts make him unique and provide a realistic opportunity for a superstar. There's a sense Ayton may need to be pushed harder than some to reach his full potential, but he has perhaps the best chance of anyone in the draft to become a true franchise player and also be called a transcendental player. A rare find indeed.
2. Luka Donic
Luka Donic the shooting guard. People might see it as risky that the team should take a foreign player. One of the reasons is because people don't believe they're ready for the NBA. It's much more physical and longer but Luka isn't an ordinary foreign player. He played the the Euro league which is the second toughest league next to the NBA and former NBA players played against. So odds are he faced the exact toughness. Another problem that people question is the ability to create space and get to the rim against NBA athletes at an elite level than most but hes also the most ready NBA Player due to his experience.
3. Mo Bamba
Mo Bamba is the last in this top three list. Another new big men and he is just as insane as Ayton. Seven feet tall and having a wingspan of 7'10 Bamba fits all of their preferred criteria in the defensive end. He has length, athleticism, intelligence and long-term upside. Bamba is surprisingly nimble, can put the ball on the floor, has a natural ability to pass out of double teams and has a sweet shooting stroke from outside. His IQ is elite – both in a basketball sense and in an off-court maturity sense however people question is whether Mo Bamba can put on the requisite muscle needed to hang in the post with other NBA big men since he still is a skinny man in NBA standards.
There could be many sleepers in this draft but because of their skills and god given bodies these players are in my top three players in this years draft.
