A lot of great movies came out this year. The writers, creators, actors, and everyone else involved in the making of a movie have really outdone themselves this year. We can all agree that we hope the movies will continue to be just as good in the years to come. Here is a list of the top ten grossing movies of 2016.

1. Finding Dory

This sequel was long awaited by fans of Finding Nemo after it premiered in 2003. In Finding Dory, the main character Dory is trying to find her parents. With the help Marlin and Nemo, they go through many adventures throughout. This and the long wait for this sequel makes this the top grossing movie of 2016.

2. Captain America: Civil War

Civil War holds one of the most intense and epic fights among friends and allies in superhero history. After the governments of the world start to interfere with Avenger business, the allies split in two - the ones who want government control and the ones who don't want that restriction. This division between the hero's isn't helped as Captain America tries to help the Winter Soldier, otherwise known as Bucky from Steve's past, avoid the people who want Bucky dead.

3. The Secret Life Of Pets

This fun loving comedy is about the adventures your pet has when you aren't around. Max's life is turned upside down when his owner brings in a new pet, Duke, who max sincerely dislikes. However, Max has to put his feelings aside when he learns that Snowball is putting together an army of lost pets.

4. The Jungle Book

This remake of the classic cartoon is more intense than ever. When the tiger named Shere Khan forces Mowgli to flee the jungle, the help of Bagheera and Baloo sends this boy into a spiral of adventures that leads to self discovery and the meaning of friendship and bravery.

5. Deadpool

After being disfigured and tortured by the villain Francis, A.K.A. Ajax, Wade turns into Deadpool and with his new abilities he has to hunt down the man who took his life away.

6. Zootopia

Small town bunny Judy Hopps leaves for the city as a rookie cop in Zootopia. Despite all the obstacles, she is determined to find the person responsible for making the predators of the city go savage.

7.Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

After the fight between Superman and Zod left the city of Metropolis destroyed, Batman is determined to put an end to the superhero.

8. Suicide Squad

A U.S. intelligence agent recruits several incarcerated villains of Gotham to form a defensive task form to save the world from an apocalypse.

9. Doctor Strange

After a car accident, Doctor Strange must embark on a journey of healing and learn the ways of mysticism and alternate dimensions.

10. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Long after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, there is a new villain, Kylo Ren and the First Order. Han Solo, Rey, and others a part of the resistance have to find Luke Skywalker to help fight the First Order.
