There are many phases one goes through to get themselves ready to go to a concert or a festival. There is the phase where one listens to the artist's music non-stop for days before the concert. There is the outfit planning. Then there is the makeup planning. For me, the one that makes me the most excited, other than the fact I'm going to see an artist that I love, is the makeup planning. That may be the case because I have a slight obsession with makeup, but for something that some girls spend hours on, it better stay put. Here are my top 10 makeup necessities for when I get ready for a concert.

1. Primer

Let's be honest, you don't want to spend hours on makeup that is just going to sweat right off, that's why primer is a must. It creates an even base for your makeup to sit on and makes it stay put longer. My favorites are either the Becca Backlight Illuminating Primer for those of you who want an extra glow or the Benefit Porefessional for those who love a matte look. If you are looking for more affordable options I recommend the Nivea Sensitive Skin Save Balm( yes I know it is men's after shave, but trust me it works) or any of the NYX cosmetics Primers.

2. A Long Lasting, Full coverage, Foundation.

We all know you want to look flawless in pictures, and a good foundation is key. You will want one that you will not sweat through. My favorites are the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation and the Clinique Beyond Correcting and Super Balanced Silk Foundation. All three are really long lasting, full coverage, and are good for combo/oily skin and the Clinique options are great for sensitive skin as well. If you prefer drugstore, good options are the Revlon Color Stay Foundation(which comes in different formulas for your skin type) and the Loreal Infallible Foundations (in the Matte and proGlo formula) are fantastic.

3. A Good Under Eye and Spot Concealer

To cover all of those under eye circles, you need a great concealer. I recommend one either 1 to 2 shades lighter to highlight and brighten your eyes. I like the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer or the Maybelline Better than Skin concealer the best for doing this. For spot concealer, I have always used the NYX pot concealer.

4. A Good Bronzer and Blush Duo

I lump bronzer and blush together because sometimes I do use one without the other. I will always put on bronzer because it adds color back into your skin making it look more "natural," and sometimes go without a blush. But sometimes you just gotta put blush on too to complete the look. Two of my favorite bronzers are Nars in shade "Laguna" and the Too Faced Chocolate Solei Bronzer, both last and look great all day(or night) and blend wonderfully. Drugstore options would be any NYX bronzer or the Makeup Revolution Bronzer Pallette, which can be purchased at Ulta. And my favorite blushes are Nars in the shade "Orgasm," (cult favorite by many) or the Wet and Wild Color Icon blush in the shade " Apricot in the Middle." (Actually, all the Color Icon Blushes are fantastic for the price, but this one is the one I use the most, but that is just my personal preference).

5. A Blinding Highlight

By all means, if you love the matte look or don't personally like highlighters, then you can skip this step. But for me, this is a must. My favorite to use right now is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in "That Glow." I rotate between all four shades. But if you are looking for a more affordable highlight I recommend any of the Colourpop highlighters, they are good quality and have great color payoff for the price.

6. An Awesome Eye Look

Whether you use a palette or single shadows, this is all personal preference. I can name all sorts of different palettes to choose from to achieve an ideal eye look. For any concert or festival, you can go with a natural or smokey eye, depending on what you are used too or what you think looks good on you. I rotate between palettes. My current favorites are the "Tartlette in Bloom" by Tarte and the "Moder Renaissance" palette my Anastasia Beverly Hills. For drugstore products, you can mix and match Colourpop Eyeshadows, which are amazing or use an Ulta or Makeup Revolution palette, which all have amazing color payoff and are super blendable.

7. Eyeliner That Doesn't Budge

Now, like with highlighter, some people prefer to not use eyeliner. But I cannot go without it. My favorites are the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in "Trooper" or the Maybelline Eye Studio Liquid Liner. Both Stay in place until I take off my makeup at the end of the day or night.

8. A Bomb Mascara

Mascara completes any eye look, in fact, I believe it can complete a makeup look as well. I always feel like something is missing before I put on my mascara. My favorites are the Benefit "They're Real" mascara and any Maybelline Mascara ( I like them ALL).

9. A Long Lasting Lipstick

Whether you are a neutral lip lover or a bold lip lover, I know you don't want to miss any part of a concert to go to the bathroom and touch up your lips for pictures. So I usually go for a liquid lip, matte or satin finish, because they tend to last the longest. My favorite brands of liquid lips are Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks, Tart Lip Paints, and Colourpop Matte and Satin lips. All last all day or night and they all have a range of shades from neutral to bold.

And last but not least,

10. Setting Spray

Before you walk out the door you better set all that hard work into place. Setting Spray keeps your makeup in place. I swear by the Urban Decay All Nighter and De-Slick setting sprays. And yes they do work, but if you are looking for an inexpensive option are you ran out of your setting spray you can use hairspray. Yes, you read that right, you can use hairspray( trust me it works).

These are the top 10 things I need for any concert or festival makeup look. I hope this list helps you create all the concert looks your creative minds can come up with. And maybe one day I will upload a video using all of my go to products and create all sorts of looks to inspire you even more.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

761
Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
