The Top 10 Film List: Starring Leonardo Dicaprio
The Odyssey

February 28, 2016, is a day that should be celebrated by all as the day Leonardo Dicaprio was finally given what he has long desired and deserved. Since Bae (finally!) was awarded his first Academy Award, it's only right that we pay homage to the best of the best roles Leo has brilliantly executed throughout his acting career.

If you think the stress of finals is unbearable, go ahead and attempt to rank the films that our darling, Leonardo Dicaprio has been featured in. Fear not, for we have taken on this terribly difficult task for you!

10. The Great Gatsby

Dicaprio's role as the elusive Jay Gatsby is one that should not be overlooked. Perhaps it's the glamorously extravagant parties, the tragically beautiful romance between Daisy and Gatsby, or Leonardo Dicaprio in a pink pin-stripe suit. "The Great Gatsby" will make you want to go back in time and share a glass of champagne with the charming Mr. Gatsby and his guests.

9. Inception

The layers (literally) the film, Inception, encompasses is representative of the many layers of the complicated character, Dominic Cobb, who Leo so beautifully portrays. Inception will keep you on your toes the entirety of the film.

8. Catch Me If You Can

A young Dicaprio acting as a pilot, a lawyer and a doctor is quite a sight for sore eyes. Frank Abagnale Jr. is a mastermind con artist who traveled the world and attained millions of dollars before the age of 19. This true story is fascinating and fun to keep up with.

7. What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Leonardo's portrayal of the mentally handicapped Arnie Grape and the story of his family, will tear away at your heart. What's Eating Gilbert Grape, starring Johnny Depp, is a must-see film. Dicaprio's acting warms and also breaks your heart at the same time.

6. Romeo + Juliet

This modern interpretation of Shakespeare's tragic love story, Romeo and Juliet, is a work of art. Dicaprio's portrayal of Romeo is everything you could wish for, when watching two star-crossed lovers risk everything for their love.

5. The Departed

The Departed centers around Dicaprio's character, Billy, who is a cop acting as a mole in an extremely dangerous Irish Gang. The suspense of Dicaprio's character and his predicaments will draw in your full attention.

4. The Wolf of Wall Street

Dicaprio portrays the notorious Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street, following Belfort's run-ins with extreme wealth, corrupt lifestyle, and federal crime. Leonardo Dicaprio encompasses all of the genres of humor, suspense, and drama effortlessly in this film.

3. Django Unchained

The despicable character of Calvin Candie is executed brilliantly by Leonardo Dicaprio in Django Unchained. Dicaprio utilizes the perfect mixture of humor, terror, and rage to keep us frighteningly intrigued by Mr. Candie and his manipulative antics.

2. Titanic

So maybe I'm a bit biased for putting Titanic so high on the list, however Leonardo Dicaprio's role as Jack Dawson is indisputably one of the most notorious characters of all time. The romantic adventures of Jack and Rose pull at even the most hard of hearts, making it impossible to not fall in love with these two characters and their story.

1. The Revenant

Cheers to Leo's Oscar-winning performance! It is impossible to not root for and be captured by Leonardo Dicaprio's character, Hugh Glass. Glass is a man who gains the strength and will-power to seek revenge on those who have left him for dead after his encounter with a bear attack. It is obvious that Dicaprio put every ounce of his soul into this performance, and it does not go unappreciated.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
