Lets go back in time to the early 2000's where we got to enjoy quality TV on good old fashioned Disney Channel. How can we forget about those shows we grew up with? How can we forget about those moments when we got home from school and our favorite actor or actress had the magic wand and made the Mickey figure drawing? I believe my generation was blessed with all the good shows that Disney Channel made while we were growing up, and I feel like today's shows will never be as great as the one's we got to watch. I'm sure I can speak for my entire generation when I say that we spent some of our greatest hours of our childhood watching these shows. Let's take a trip down memory lane and remember our favorite TV shows and TV characters from old Disney Channel.
1. "Lizzie McGuire"
My personal favorite. How can we forget about our favorite clumsy blonde who was living the life of an average teenager facing problems all girls eventually have to face? Let's not forget about her cartoon sidekick who was there to express everything Lizzie did not have the courage of actually saying. From this show, we got the Lizzie McGuire movie where all of us girls dream with the possibility that when we traveled to Rome we would meet an international superstar and pass as his duet partner without anyone figuring it out. This movie is where all us girls learned the song what dreams are made of and we know that Paolo did not really sing. "Sing to me Paolo."
2. "That's So Raven"
Our favorite psychic. Raven and her two best friends, Eddie and Chelsea, were always getting into trouble with Raven's visions. We knew that whenever she did her signature raven face something big was going to happen. This show would make us laugh until our stomach hurts with all of Raven's crazy adventures always involving those who surround her and how her little brother Cory was obsessed with making money and wanted to be in all of her schemes. But let's definitely not forget the iconic theme song that we would all sing at the top of our lungs and end with "Yup, that's me."
3. "Even Stevens"
Let's take it way back to 1999, when we were first introduced to the Stevens family. We definitely can't forget about Louis, the one all little boys and maybe even girls wanted to be and how we would all steal his pranks to pull them on our older siblings. Louis was a young, mischievous kid who was facing life like any preteen would; always getting into trouble and always irritating his older sister, but most importantly always making us laugh and for that the Stevens family will always have a place in my heart, including Louis' best friend Allen.
4. "The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody"
Who else wanted their mom to be the singer of a hotel so they could live there? I know that was my dream throughout my entire childhood. How can we forget about TV's most adorable and mischievous twins? Forget about the Olsen twins, when the suite life was on it was all about the Sprouse twins, but more importantly, it was about the Martin twins, the two brothers who lived in a hotel and did not destroy it completely, but were very close to doing so. This show brought us unforgettable characters like Mr. Mosbey, the hotel's manager who's relationship with the boys was not always that pleasant. We can't forget about London Tipton, the hotel heiress who's comments would make us laugh until we exploded. We also can forget Maddie, the hotel's candy girl who Zack always had a crush on and would try to win her over with his signature catchphrase, "Hey there, sweet thang." But last, but not least, we can't forget about Esteban Julio Ricardo Montoya De la Rosa Ramirez.
5. "Hannah Montana"
Let's all take a moment to remember Miley / Hannah, that southern girl who was living the best of both worlds. To her classmates she was just Miley, but the entire world she was Hannah; a worldwide known popstar. How she was never discovered we will never know but we loved her anyway. With her "say whats" and craziness she won our hearts along with her best friends and brother and father who always supported her.
Who else remembers that Billy Rae's disguise was just a mustache?
6. "Wizards of Waverly Place"
The show where I personally think Selena did her best work. This show was the one that most made me laugh with Alex, the rebellious teenager who used her wizard powers to make things go her way. Always getting in trouble and needed her brother Justin the "perfect son" to help her. This family made us laugh until tears came out. The Russo's were such a relatable family even though they did not have a relatable story, at one point we all wished to be them and eventually, we all expected a big plot twist where Max won the wizards family competition and kept the powers for himself.
7. "Kim Possible"
"What's the sitch?" The unforgettable catchphrase that we all smile when we hear it. Kim, the average teenage cheerleader who in her spare time would travel the world saving them from evil supervillains. Along with her sidekick Ron Stoppable and his pet rat Ruffus, they would save the world from disasters and no one even knew about it. You know what to do... "Call me, beep me if you want to reach me." (Unforgettable theme song.)
8. "Disney Channel Games"
Sorry, I just had to include them. I don't know about you, but these were my childhood Olympics. This was the moment I would wait for all year long. The only time I could see all my favorite TV stars compete together and against each other in ridiculous challenges. I used to think that these games were the best think ever invented and I'm sure I'm not the only one. These games changed everything and made my childhood even happier. Thank you Disney Channel for the Disney Channel games, I hope you are make them and the new generations can enjoy them with their favorite stars just as much as I did.
9. "Recess"
I was not a huge fan of cartoons, but this one I loved. I remember it was on everyday, I got home from school, I would sit in front of the TV and eat my snack while watching these six sixth graders go through all the adventures they could possible have in just like 30 minutes. I'm sure we all wanted to be in their recess.
10. "Art Attack"
One of the true classics. I'm sure all of us at one point in our lives tried to do one of these arts and crafts that seemed so simple on TV, but turned out a disaster when we would do it. I would love learning new ways to make things even though my mom would kill me about the mess I did. Art Attack was the show all kids wanted to watch before mothers day or fathers day to make our parents the perfect creative gift.
Hope you enjoyed your trip down memory lane, I know I did. I also hope new generations are enjoying their current Disney Channel shows as much as we all did although personally I believe and I will always believe our generation was blessed and got to enjoy the best shows of all time.
