My family may be Yankee's, but I definitely grew up in the south. I grew up on country music like most wouldn't believe! My Mama always says that the first song I sang along to was "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis. And literally four of the six preset stations in my car are definitely country. One thing so many people don't realize is that country music is about so much more than drinking, trucks, and your mama. Country music is about love, liberty, and living life to the fullest. Every time I need a pick-me-up, or I need a sing-a-long song, country is always there for me. I've learned a lot about life from this music. Here's my Top Ten country songs that will definitely speak to your soul:

10. Miranda Lambert, "Platinum"

"What doesn't kill you, only makes you blonder."

9. Carolyn Dawn Johnson, "Dress Rehearsal"

"Don't wait for the perfect moment, it'll never come around"

8. Charlie Daniels Band, "In America"

"We'll all stick together... the cowboys and the hippies, the Rebels and the yanks."

7. LeAnn Womack, "I Hope You Dance"

"Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'"

6. Kacey Musgraves, "Biscuits"

"I've never gotten taller making someone else feel small. If you ain't got nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all"

5. Rascal Flatts, "My Wish"

"Never carry more than you can hold."

4. Martina McBride, "This One's For the Girls"

"We're all the same on the inside, from one to ninety-nine."

3. George Strait, "I Cross My Heart"

"So lets make each tomorrow the best that it can be."

2. Thomas Rhett, "The Day You Stop Looking Back"

"The day you stop looking back, is the day you start moving on."

1. Carrie Underwood, "Nobody Ever Told You"

"Just like a flower growing wild, you're beautiful"

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.
