When I first started school at CNU, I was very interested in joining the well known christian organization called Younglife. Senior year of high school was the first year I was a part of Younglife, and I really liked it. Going to Rockbridge fall weekend was a no brainer after thinking about it for a great amount of time. Here are my top takeaways from Younglife fall weekend:

1. Fall weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in my entire life.

I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to go to this wonderful weekend which lived up to all of the expectations I had expected out of it.

2. All of the activities were amazing.

Every activity during the weekend didn't disappoint. From the blindfolded musical chairs to singing together with everyone from all 11 schools involved was amazing.

3. I'm glad I made new friends during the weekend.

It felt great having a chance to make new friends from other schools. At first, I was scared about making friends since it was my first Younglife weekend but I had no problems with making new friends.

4. It felt unbelievably amazing to talk about God.

The weekend speaker at club, Tom Dixon did a really good job talking and gave insightful stories while talking about god during the weekend.

5. Words couldn't describe how it felt breaking the barrier between god and myself.

During one of the last club meetings at the weekend, Mr. Dixon talked about how to break the barrier between god and myself by not being reluctant to ask for advice and to always come to god with the feelings in your heart.

6. The ropes was fearful, yet fantastic at the same time.

My favorite activity out of all was the ropes course. I'll definitely say I was very scared walking across a rope only having bear claw handles and cables holding me upright. The scenery from up above was absolutely stunning and the ropes course was worth the challenge.

7. Amazing weekend to get away from college.

When i was first convinced to go to Younglife Fall Weekend, I was nervous about going away since I never ever left before on a weekend as well as having a ton of homework to do. This great weekend erased all of my concerns since I really needed a break from the stressful and grueling college life.

8. All of the food was great.

Every meal throughout the weekend didn't disappoint. Out of all meals my favorite meal were the Chicken Sandwiches for lunch on Saturday afternoon which was complemented by fries and a beautifully warm perfect chocolate chip cookie.

9. The work crew, staff and speaker did a great job.

A big shoutout goes to the work crew for taking time out of there busy weekends to serve us food. I'd also like to thank the staff for throwing great activities that weren't close to boring and I really appreciate Tom Dixon for offering his insightful advice throughout the weekend to help me change my beliefs.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
