The hot trends you'll be sure to see on the beach this summer are fun, flirty, and reminiscent of an exotic vacation! I hope to give all you beach bound and summer loving fashionistas a heads up on the major patterns and styles that you'll want to take straight to the sand.

The Round Beach Towel

An Australian sea-side trend has hit the coasts of the USA. Not only does the unique shape allow you timeless tanners to soak up the sun lying at any angle you so choose, but it also means that the overall towel size is huge! Who doesn't love an oversized towel, right?

When the summer months' end, you don't have to say goodbye to this baby. Use it throughout the school year to bask in the quad or have a picnic with friends. The possibilities that come with the shape, size and fabulous prints of these towels are endless.

Don't be square, stand out with a round towel of your own! Some retailers with cute designs are Jame's Boutique, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, and Belk.

Palm Prints

The chic palm leaf print is everywhere. You can find this tropical print featured in clothes, home decor, beach wear, and even tech accessories! Whether you are planning to spend your summer by the sea or inland, the vibrant green shades and the bold pattern will make you feel like you've been transported straight to the tropics with a fruity cocktail (or mocktail) in hand!

I find that T&J Designs have the cutest combinations of the palm leaf print and flirty styles of tops and dresses. For decor, I would recommend checking out PB Teen's new Emily and Meritt collection which features a number of home items such as pillows, blankets, wallpaper, towels and more, that pair the warm green leaves with a pop of pink! Urban Outfitters has this cute macbook skin that will surely make you feel like an islander while you surf the web.

Pom Poms and Tassels

Bloggers and designers everywhere are embracing their playful side, adding colorful pom poms and large tassels to their wardrobe. Reminiscent of island colors, the accents in clothing, accessories, and jewelry will have you feeling fun and flirty this summer. Spread the exotic, island vibes with everyone around you this summer.

Tassel and pom-pom earrings are an easy and quick way to add some color and fun to your outfit! Find a variety of colored pom earrings and tassel earrings at Bevello or BaubleBar!

Sun Hats

Finally, those picture-worthy hats that are populating your Instagram. Big, straw sunhats are on trend this summer, showcasing sassy comments and inciting a carefree vibe. Embrace the statement piece by the pool, on the beach or even on a lunch date in the city.

Find a sunhat that has a message that fits you! Whether it say "out of office," "talk to the sand," "I can't even," or "do not disturb," surely, there is one out there that characterizes your unique personality and sense of humor all while looking fabulous! Get out there and throw some shade with one of your own. A good place to start your search for your perfect summer accessory would be Nordstrom or T&J Designs!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
