Top 9 2015 Spring Break Destinations

Here are my picks for the best spring break destinations of 2015.

Top 9 2015 Spring Break Destinations

1. Destin, Florida.

Destin is such an easy choice for spring break, even if you haven’t made any plans yet. Most of Alabama flocks to the white, sandy beaches, making it easy to visit a lot of different condo and house parties. It's also cheaper than other destinations; especially if someone you are going with owns a house or condo there. It is not very far from Tuscaloosa, so you can road trip with all of your friends, which adds to the fun.

2. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.

This area is also a great pick for spring break. Gulf Shores has lots of fun beach bars like Pink Pony, Tacky Jacks and Flora-Bama. You get to enjoy those white, sandy beaches without even leaving the state, which is also very cost efficient.

3. Key West, Florida.

Key West has always been popular for many spring breakers across the country. Although it is quite far away from Tuscaloosa, it's your best bet if you want to feel like you are in the Bahamas, but don’t want to pay as much. The laid back atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax with a drink in hand, but the bar scene can also be exciting. In addition, you can go on deep-sea fishing excursions or go diving and snorkeling.

4. Miami, Florida.

Miami is full of color, flavor and lots of sun. Clubbing in South Beach is very popular for many spring breakers because the atmosphere is like no other. The weather is also very warm, so you don’t have to worry about it being cold like the Florida panhandle sometimes can be. If you are into visiting a big city, but also wish to gain a tan on the beach, Miami may be the right choice.

5. Cancun, Mexico.

Flying to Cancun can be quite a stretch, but it is well worth the money. Choosing an all-inclusive resort is probably the best bet, because you never once have to pay for a drink. Cancun has been a spring break destination since spring break was invented, and never fails to be a good time. Thousands of students flock to Cancun to enjoy countless margaritas and dive off cliffs into the deep blue waters. Not to mention the huge nightclubs and exciting catamaran excursions.

6. A cruise.

Cruises can be the best way to easily incorporate all of your friends in the same place. It is often difficult to convince all of your friends to choose one destination, but a cruise incorporates many for one price. You can choose rooms next to each other on the ship, and experience each stop together. Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian cruise lines offer many different options as far as destination, length and port. Plus, all of your food is included, and you can buy drink passes for the week.

7. Trip with your family.

Since you're away at college all year and probably have an internship or job during the summer, why not hangout with your family for spring break? Convince your parents to go on a fun family vacation to the Cayman Islands or skiing in Colorado, and it may end up being way more fun than you thought. After all the tests and papers of spring semester, just going home and laying low may also be the choice for you.

8. Las Vegas, Nevada.

Only a quick plane ride from Birmingham or Atlanta, Las Vegas can be an awesome pick for spring break. Not a traditional beach destination, but the many pool parties you will attend will make up for it. Shows, world-renowned clubs and resorts can make the experience one of a kind. If you just turned 21 this year, it can also be a chance to celebrate your birthday again with all of your friends.

9. New York City.

Although this is not a very traditional spring break destination because the beach is nowhere to be found, New York City could be a surprisingly fun choice for spring break. No matter what time of year, New York City has something special to offer. Top class restaurants, Broadway shows and lots of shopping can be some of the many things you can experience in NYC.
