12 Of The Best Quotes From "10 Things I Hate About You"
10 Things I Hate About You

There is something about 90's movies that leaves a mark on the cinematic world. They become classics and are watched by multiple generations after they are released. When new "coming of age" movies are created, they are held to a certain standard due to the teen coming-of-age movies that were made in the 90's. In 1999, the film "10 Things I Hate About You" was released and left it's mark as one of the classics that came out of the 90's. Not only was the film itself a classic, it was filled with many memorable, relatable, and iconic quotes - and I have (tried) to narrow it down to the 12 best.

1. When Kat sarcastically summed up how a majority of girls feel about the male population.

“I guess, in this society, being male and an asshole makes you worthy of our time.”

2. When Patrick did not hold back the way he really felt.

“That’s a touching story. It really is.... Not my problem.”

4. When Patrick was awesome at compromising to be able to get what he wants.

“Well let’s think about this. We go to the movies, that’s, uh, 15 bucks. We get popcorn, that’s, uh, 53. And, uh, she’ll want Raisinets, right? So, uh, we’re looking at 75 bucks.”

5. When Kat used an old school version of one of the best modern terms.

“Do you even know my name, screw-boy?”

6. When Kat hit everyone with the realness of life

“You don’t always have to be who they want you to be, you know.”

7. When Michael was so adorably innocent.

“The last party I went to was at Chuck E Cheese. You want to talk about some fun? That’s a good time!”

8. When Patrick gave the pep-talk that everyone needs to hear.

“Don’t let anyone, ever, make you feel like you don’t deserve what you want.”

9. When Cameron was over Bianca bullsh**.

“Just because you’re beautiful, that doesn’t mean you can treat people like they don’t matter.”

10. When Kat expressed that the only opinions that matter are your own.

“I don’t like to do what people expect. Why should I live up to other people’s expectations instead of my own?”

11. When Kat was trying to be a protective older sister.

“Not all experiences are good, you can’t always trust the people you want to.”

12. And of course... Last but not least... The most iconic...

“But mostly, I hate the way I don’t hate you. Not even close. Not even a little bit. Not even at all.”

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
