Many websites online these days contain different tests and quizzes that are meant to determine different facets of your life, your personality, or the things around you. The website BuzzFeed is especially famous for this, offering many quizzes made to determine random things, such as what type of milkshake you would be. There are also a lot of other, more-well-thought-out ones than this, and unfortunately not many of them are as well-known as others. Because of this, I felt the need to create an article where I find these and present them to you in one place. I'll also be testing them out myself to show you what the results will be like

1. The Rorschach Test

Description:

The famous Rorschach test (pronounced roar-shack), also know as the Rorschach Inkblot test, or simply The Inkblot test, is a psychological test made to determine ones own personality, feelings, or emotions. Invented by a Swiss psychiatrist named Hermann Rorschach, the patient is shown a blob of ink and is told to interpret it in whatever way they like. Then, using psychological interpretation, they use the answers to find out certain things about the patient. The original Rorschach test has 10 very specific inkblots, all of which are often classified in order to prevent patients from having prior exposure to the slides, as Rorschach himself thought that this would make the results more accurate. Regardless, there are still different versions of this test online.

My results:

"Your score is 2-of-10, meaning you selected two answers that are commonly given by individuals with some psychological disturbance. Harrower-Erickson (1945) used four or more poor answers as the criteria for a cognitively disturbed individual..."

2. The Political Compass test

Description:

The Political Compass test is an online test made to give you an idea of where you stand politically. It was meant to break away from the linear system of just 'liberal' or 'conservative' and give you a better idea of what you think based on your views. As you can see, it uses a two-dimensional format, giving you a more in-depth look than the either/or system we currently use. It is fairly well known from what I can tell, and is often used to compare your views to those of others.

My results:

"Economic Left/Right: -2.88

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.31"

3. The Myers-Briggs personality test

One of the more well-known tests on this list, the Myers-Briggs test is a personality test developed by a woman named Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs. It collects different information about you and your personality, and uses that to sort you into one of 16 different personality types. This is considered by many to be the most accurate personality test out there, and some people use it as an instant identifier for their own personality, and there is even an organization dedicated to the test.

My results:

According to the first version, I am an ENFP, and according to the second one, I am the same thing, further corroborating the results.

4. Harry Potter sorting quiz

And lastly, the more informal one of the list is this: the Harry Potter sorting hat quiz. For those of you who don't know the story, when new students arrive at the Wizarding School of Hogwarts, they have a magical talking hat placed on their heads that decides which one of four sections of the school they belong in. There are 4 of these sections, called 'houses'; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin are their names, and they all have different personality traits associated with them. Many attempts have been made to recreate the Sorting Hat in an online quiz, but those are often arbitrary and not very well thought out. The two below are the most accurate I could find.

My results:

According to the first test, I am a Ravenclaw, as I already expected. I refrained from taking the second one, though; it's on the official Harry Potter fan website, so it might give spoilers.

Bonus: Sporcle.com

This isn't actually a quiz itself, but rather a website that hosts quizzes you can take online. I felt the need to include this because there are a lot of tests and quizzes on this site that you can choose from, and I'm also disappointed that this website isn't very well-known. Anybody may go and create a quiz on there, but regardless, most of the quizzes on here are very high quality and well thought out. They test your knowledge on just about anything you can think of, whether it be sports, TV shows, history, or any other topic you can think of. There's a wide variety, and there is something for everyone on there, so feel free to check it out!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
