Top 10 Questions College Football Fans Should Ask

Ahhh, football ... there are just so many things to love about it. Whether it's the smell of burgers cooking on Dad's rusty old grill or the feel of the ball touching your hands when going for a Hail Mary down the field, we love it. It doesn't matter if it's college or the pros, people talk football 24/7.

Being in college, it seems like we as the "youngings" would prefer college level over the NFL right? Actually, yes, you are correct. When I recently conducted a survey, over 75 percent of the people I asked said they would much rather watch college football over professional.

Last season, something incredible happened in the NCAA: fans got their wish. For years, people have been complaining that there isn't a playoff system, and that the number one and two teams are the only teams who get a shot. Well, those people who complained got to witness history happen, as the number one team went down and the number four won it all.

Now that the 2015 season is here, fans and sports analysts are questioning how their teams' seasons will pan out. Not only that, but certain players will probably have sophomore slumps or breakout years. With over a million questions being asked, here are the top 10 questions fans should ask for the 2015 season:

1. Who Is Playing Quarterback At Ohio State?

Let's just start with the easiest question. Ohio State can't go wrong with their selection for the man under center ... can they? One guy brought the team to an 11-1 season, while the other one beat three Heisman finalists on his way to winning a National Championship for his program. The fact of the matter is: both JT Barrett and Cardale Jones are quality starters and have the ability to be future studs in the NFL. While one could say that Barrett did pass for over 30 touchdowns last season, Jones is the one who did lead the Buckeyes to their first National Championship since 2002. One thing is certain coming down the stretch, Urban Meyer is one lucky man.

2. Is Florida State Back To Being Average?

Remember two years ago when the Seminoles went a perfect 14-0? Remember last year when they went 13-0 and then got destroyed by Oregon in the Rose Bowl? Well after seeing all of those close wins and the eventual slaughter, fans have questioned the invincibility of the Seminoles. While they were able to steal former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson, fans aren't sure which version of Golson will be making his way to Tallahassee for 2015. They also have Jalen Ramsey, arguably one of the top defensive backs in the nation this year, but besides that, really no one else on the defense. Also add in the fact of their schedule against more impressive teams like Clemson, Louisville and Florida, and the Seminoles might be in some serious trouble this season.

3. Speaking Of Clemson...Just How Good Are They?

For years it seemed like South Carolina is the team of the state. Well after the last few seasons, they may be replaced by the other school down the road. The Clemson Tigers have slowly been making a push at the ACC title, and to many, they believe this is their year. Led by Sophomore quarterback DeShaun Watson, the Tigers' offense will look great under the dual-threat quarterback. Not only that, but Watson will have three incredible wideouts in Artavius Scott, Charone Peake and Mike Williams. If these four can find a rhythm, especially late in the season, watch out playoffs, Clemson is here to play.

4. If We Believe In Clemson...Should We Believe In Tennessee?

While Clemson has slowly been on the rise, Tennessee is slowly doing the same thing. While it may have taken a couple of tries since the departure of legendary coach Phillip Fulmer, Butch Jones and the Vols are finally getting the attention Tennessee has been missing since 2008. Joshua Dobbs, the sophomore from Alpharetta, will be the signal caller, and he's getting major attention of being the next big name in college football. Also add in Marquez North, and stand-out freshman Derek Barnett, and the Vols are in strong shape. However, there might be reason to believe they are still a year away. Tennessee should be fun to watch this year.

5. Is Dak Prescott Out Of Gas?

Now full disclosure: this doesn't mean the Dak-Attack is going to have a "bad year." After last season though, it will be hard to repeat what Prescott was able to accomplish. Not only did he lead Mississippi State to a number one ranking for the first time in school history, but he also threw over 3000 yards, and scored 40 total touchdowns. After a true Heisman-caliber season for the rising senior, fans are wondering if Prescott can do it again this season. Sure Prescott will have his top receiver DeRunnya Wilson returning, but it's more than just that. It will be a mentality game for Prescott. If he believes he can get the job done, he will. If he hesitates for a second, Mississippi State might be in trouble.

6. If Texas A&M Struggles, Does Kevin Sumlin Bounce?

Ever since Johnny Manziel broke out in College Station, Kevin Sumlin's name has been mentioned to be a favorite to take an NFL job every year. While the rumors have slowly died down over the course of the seasons, many still believe that he will continue to be offered a job until he officially leaves. While the Aggies are projected to have a solid receiving corp in speedy Noil, Josh Reynolds and Ricky Seals-Jones, are not the issue. Sure some even say that the battle of Kyle Allen and true freshman Kyler Murray might be an issue, but it's not. If the hire of John Chavis doesn't help out the terrible defense found at Kyle Field, the Aggies might be in some serious trouble down the stretch. Sometimes serious trouble also means change, and the loss of Sumlin might be the biggest change of all.

7. Which Sophomore Running Back Will Hit The Slump?

While so many running backs made huge strides last season, three freshmen stood out among the rest. Oklahoma's Samaje Perine, Georgia's Nick Chubb and LSU's Leonard Fournette all made huge impacts for their teams as freshmen last season. Whether it's Perine's 1700 rushing yards, Chubb's 14 touchdowns or Fournette's down-hill running ability, all three are primed and ready for a big sophomore year...right? While fans can believe that these players won't lose a step or two, sophomore slumps happen to everyone. Perine will be splitting reps with Joe Mixon, while Chubb will now be the full-time back for Georgia. While Fournette has been the main back since arriving in Baton Rouge, he should probably also lose a step. In the end however, one of these players won't live up to the hype, only time will tell who.

8. Is Josh Rosen For Real?

With all this freshman talk of last year's running back battle, quarterback is the freshman position to watch this year. While Alabama's Blake Barnett and Texas A&M's Kyler Murray are gaining press, Josh Rosen from UCLA is the big name to watch out for. Since arriving at UCLA, Rosen has learned the playbook fast and is slowly impressing head coach, Jim Mora Jr. Add in the fact that Rosen threw 90 career touchdowns and over 11,000 yards in just two seasons, and you got yourself a future Heisman contender. But is he really worth the hype? There are so many other quarterbacks who have excelled over the past season and are being unnoticed. Is Josh Rosen really the savior for the Bruins? Will he do what Brett Hundley never could? Is he the next Johnny Manziel freshman trophy winner? While I'm not ready to believe in this kid, most of the world is.

9. Is USC Underrated?

The Trojans have been one of the top programs over the two decades, but since Pete Carroll's bolt to the Pros, they have underachieved. While Lane Kiffin did get the team to a number-one ranking under former quarterback Matt Barkley, both Barkley and Kiffin underperformed that season, costing both of them their jobs. Now with Steve Sarkisian under the helm, USC is looking back to the days of Pete Carroll. Quarterback Cody Kessler is looking like Matt Lienart 2.0, while Max Truek is projected to be the next big name center in the NFL. Add in speedster dual-threat player Adoree Jackson, and the Trojans are a scary-looking program. While USC has cracked ESPN's Top 10 rankings, with their staff they could easily be in the top five. Time will tell if Sarkisian and staff turn this season into a 2004 replay, or a 2012 one.

10. Will No Big 12 Championship Blow Their Chance For The Playoff?

We have to feel for TCU and Baylor, right? While both programs had the exact same 11-1 season, due to the joint Big 12 Champions title, neither was given a shot to play for the National Championship. According to sources, many believe that both TCU and Baylor could end up with one-loss seasons again this year. This would once again be controversial if teams like USC, Georgia, Ohio State and Clemson all have 11-1 records and play for their Championships. While many would love to see Trevone Boykin and the Horned Frogs, or Shawn Oakman and the Bears play for the trophy, it's hard to imagine seeing one of them get in if the other four teams finish 12-1. While the Big 12 is looking into adding back the Big 12 Championship game, one of these teams might have to be a perfect 12-0 if they want to find their way to Glendale come January.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
