My Top 4 Favorite Places I’ve Ever Travelled

In This Article:

I love traveling, so here's my experience!

1. Yellowstone National Park

On this trip, my family and I traveled to 4 new states: Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Montana. All of these places were absolutely beautiful and everywhere you went you saw huge open fields with huge mountains in every direction. Traveling out west was definitely much different than any other trip I've ever taken. Everyone here was so friendly and outgoing. Many people who lived here were farmers and owned lots of cattle. While traveling through Idaho on the highway, both sides were just surrounded by horses and cows. Going into Yellowstone was absolutely breathtaking, and there was so much to see. Not only were the mountains beautiful, the wildlife and hot springs were also a sight to see.

2. Nashville, Tennessee

If you know me well enough, you know that I love country music. Nashville is the perfect place to go if you love country music. There is so much to do in this small city. The Grand Ole Opry is definitely a place you should check out, even if you don't listen to country music. It's a very small venue where artists come to perform and it's recorded as a radio show. The Opry is always full of surprises so you never know who will show up to perform! I was fortunate enough to see Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, and their surprise guest, Blake Shelton! Nashville is also an amazing place for new and rising artists. People from all over the world come to play at restaurants in downtown Nashville, so there is always great live music everywhere you go!

3. Outer Banks, North Carolina

The OBX (Outer Banks) is a beautiful strip of beaches located in North Carolina. These beaches are very long, and you often see people driving their cars on them. It was always so easy to pack for the beach, because you could pack up your car and park right at the top of the beach. Often times the waves would be pretty big, big enough to boogie board or body surf. The OBX is a beautiful and relaxing place to go. If you like wildlife, you will also always see wild horses walking up and down roads, or running down the beaches.

4. New Smyrna Beach, Florida:

This year, I traveled down to Florida with one of my sisters, and my grandmother. We went and visited our cousins who live in Longwood, and then we went for a few days and stayed on New Smyrna Beach. This beach was very quiet and relaxing. Florida, as we know, gets very hot, but the ocean stays cool enough to swim in comfortably. This beach is perfect for long walks, and sunset watching. Sometimes, you can even see dolphins in the water, or sea turtles migrating towards the water after just being hatched!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
