Top picks from Amazon

Some of the gems of Amazon.com

Top picks from Amazon

Amazon is a hidden gem. I have come to appreciate it, mostly because of two-day student prime shipping. However, after some digging, I found there are so many great brands that Amazon carries that I had never even heard of before. The quality of everything was definitely beyond my expectations so I definitely recommend checking out amazon next time you’re looking for something!

  1. Blanket Scarf

So I just got this recently and I have been LOOOVVVIINNGGG it. Obviously, I did my research and looked at reviews for all of the blanket scarves on Amazon. Many were marketed as blanket scarves, however reviews said otherwise. This Dimore scarf definitely lived up to its expectations. Not only is it blanket size, but it is SO soft and they have other colors available. Get it here.

2. Ben Nye setting powder

I had been holding off on getting the Laura Mercier setting powder because I couldn’t justify paying that much money for such a little jar of powder. I happened to stumble across this Ben Nye translucent setting powder and the reviews were great. After using it myself I have to agree this power is amazing. It sets the face beautifully and is great for baking. It keeps your makeup on all day and doesn’t make you look cakey. Plus, the 3oz jar has so much product it will last you for awhile. Get it here.

3. Basstop Selfie Light

I know for a while the Lumee phone light case was gaining lots of popularity. Perfect lighting for your phone wherever you go, who wouldn’t want that? I was all for that, but not for $60. I did some searching and found the Basstop Light Ring. This was the perfect size to clip onto my phone, even with the case on. It also has 3 settings so you can adjust how bright you want the light depending on where you’re at. Get it here.

4. Beautilee 3 piece kit

I am always on the lookout for Beauty Blender Dupes. Again, I just can’t justify spending $20 for a sponge. There’s no way that there isn’t another sponge in the beauty industry that is similar to the quality of the beauty blender. One of the recommendations for me on Amazon was this 3 piece kit. Considering my other sponge was falling apart, I decided to give this a go. I fell in love with this sponge. It doubled in size after placed under water and it blended out foundation flawlessly. Plus it came with 2! It also came with a retractable brush that was very soft, so overall the kit was a hit. Get it here.

5. Evershop camera lens clip on

Ever wanted to take a picture with a group of friends but your arms weren’t long enough to get everyone in the picture? Problem solved. This kit comes with 4 lens to add cool effects to your pictures. The wide angle lens will expand the view of your camera, giving it a “zoomed out” feel. You also get a fish eye lens, macro lens, and CPL lens all to bring up the aesthetic of your photos. This kit comes with a clip where you can screw on which lens you want. You also get a cute little drawstring bag to keep all of the lenses together. Get it here.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
