The New Year is slowly approaching, and with the holiday season ahead of us, many are reflecting and reevaluating their life choices. New Years Resolutions are the perfect opportunity for many to set a goal, one that they may have chosen in previous years, and try to achieve it. This upcoming year, try not to push it to the next day, or the next week, or the next month, because before we know it, we will be in this exact spot reminiscing on our life choices, and what we should have done.

This is your chance to sit down and reflect, what did you like about this year? What would you change? What fashion trend will you bring into the New Year and what one will you leave behind? What will you do to improve your health? What won't you do? What places would you like to visit? How will you budget better? All of these are questions that will lead you to find your New Years resolution.

Here are 25 tips and tricks to follow through on your New Years resolution, because as we all know, a majority of people do not stick to their resolution.

1. Get into shape: This is the top trending thing for many Americans, and also the hardest to achieve and stick to. It's easy to start a diet plan and a workout routine, but how will you stick to it? Check your weight weekly not daily! Also, try to buddy up at the gym! Company is always better. Remember that intensity matters more than time! Try to eat whole foods instead of processed foods!

2. Start eating healthier, and less food overall: Obviously this is a challenging resolution considering almost everyone loves to eat food!! Try to switch over to a healthier diet and throw out the junk food! Resist the urge to emotional eating, and find a distraction! Many diets fail due to inadequate sleep, commitment issues, poor timing of meals, and overestimating calories burned!

3. Learn to be happier with your life: Even people who make a good living, have a decent shape, and have stress under control, can still be unhappy. It takes time to learn to not let the little things bother you or bring you down.

4. Get more quality sleep: It can be distracting surrounded by smart TVs, iPhones, and laptops. Try to leave that stuff to the side and aim to sleep at least 8 hours. Avoid eating 3 hours before you go to bed, and cut back on the alcohol & caffeine consumption! Try mediating, staying hydrated, and thinking positively.

5. Read More: Believe it or not, reading more books, magazines, and newspapers is an excellent way to gain more knowledge, and can also exercise your brain. You only need tomato this habit- discover what topics you like and set time aside here and there.

6. Become Tidier: There are many slobs out there who do not have their stuff together. Being organized is important because it can lead to a positive lifestyle. Having a cluttered desk or chaotic home can be overwhelming, stressful, and could affect your productivity.

7. Quit procrastinating: The biggest hurdle that keeps many people from achieving their goals is the urge to relax and do something fun instead of work hard. Try the "2- Minute Rule." If it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now. It should only take 2 minutes to form a new habit.

8. Reduce Stress: They say that stress is one of the biggest killers out there including your health, relationships, and lifestyle. Stress can be effectively managed like starting a stress journal, or replacing old habits with healthier habits, such as exercising, coloring, or talking to someone!

9. Spend more time with the people that matter: This life is extremely short to waste it on insincere, toxic, and dishonest people. We should focus on the people who we care about and who care about us, along with staying happy.

10. Start drinking in moderation or quit drinking altogether: Although it's safe and healthy to drink one or two servings of an alcoholic beverage of your choice per day, not a lot of people can say that they follow this rule. It is extremely beneficial to get your drinking under control, even though it is a difficult process.

11. Start saving money: Debt is a horrible thing, that feels ever growing. It is easy to put some money aside, even if it is a little. Having that extra money can go towards something beneficial, such as traveling, or buying a new car.

12. Volunteer & give more to charity: Devoting your time and energy to helping those in need is rewarding in itself. It is also an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills about yourself, and boost your resume.

13. Travel more & see the world: This one requires your finances to be in order, have the right equipment, and invest in time and effort before you consider traveling abroad, or possibly in the state. This is very rewarding due to experiencing different cultures, climates, and people.

14. Reinvent yourself: If you don't feel quite as happy as you used to, and have tried several things, maybe it's time for some serious changes. Reinventing yourself can give you a whole new perspective on life and the daily choices you make. It will take you in different directions you may have never imagined.

15. Get over an ex: Clearly, this is a painful topic, but it's time to pull up the big girl/boy pants, and move on. Leave them in the past and let yourself grow. Take time for yourself, spend time with your friends, be active, and recognize your self worth.

16. Spend less time on social media: Not everyone spends hours in front of the TV, or playing video games, but social media have become a very serious addiction among our society. Leaving us out of touch with the real world, peoples emotions, being active, and spending more time on themselves than creeping on who that girl was.

17. Start being more creative: Many of us throw our creativity out the window when we are mentally exhausted, this could be caused from a bad job or hobby, and now allowing you to fully think outside the box. It's important to express yourself and allow your and to be creative in a number of different ways.

18. Face your fears & insecurities: This is tough, but most of our fear and insecurities are rooted from issues we want to address. You need to think of it as surviving and controlling your fears and insecurities, rather than overcoming them. This will allow you to grow and shed off a lot of insecurities that you have.

19. Stop being late all the time: Being on time is a mark of true professionalism. It can also mean you're a dependable friend and caring partner. Try to set reminders, and plan ahead for troubles. Also remember to be organized and not rush yourself.

20. Pick up useful skills or fun hobbies: Sitting around all day won't get your anywhere when you could be using your free time in a constructive manner. Picking up new skills can be fun and helpful in the future.

21. Give up cigarettes: A bad habit that a lot of people don't know how to kick- not only will smoking endanger your health, but it can also burn a hole in your wallet as well. Prepare yourself to be dedicated and have a lot of will power to giving up cigarettes once and for all.

22. Become more polite: Good manner shave always been an important part of a civilized society- it also allows being able to connect with others easier and avoid offending people. Good manners ensure that others will perceive you as a good and trustworthy person.

23. Become more confident and take some chances: If you are confident, other people will notice it. Self-confidence will help you lead a much happier life overall.

24. Met new people: Sometimes we get stuck in a rut, and usually end up staying home most of the time, missing out on a lot of interesting opportunites to network ad have fun, along with meeting new people! Not only it is fun, but it can also benefit your mental well-being and allow you to overcome your shyness.

25. Stick to the good healthy habits you've developed: The most important thing in life is to be positive! Keeping all the positive changes you've made in your life can allow you to overall be happier. Sticking with good habits you've adopted, along with self-improvement, can naturally become a part of who you are!

So as you sit down these next few weeks and think about your life choices, remember to make positive and healthy changes to your goals in the New Year.
