I find myself, like many people, spending countless hours binge-watching Netflix TV shows that I don't have time to watch when they were on cable. Are there better ways to spend my free time, like for example doing the mountains of homework I have stacked up from college? Probably. Regardless, I still watch these shows back to back to back until I have finally completed every episode of every season. So to help you all with your binge-watching abilities, I have put together a few of my favorite shows on Netflix.
1. Stranger Things
At number one, I have started us off with the new eight episode release of the Netflix summer hit, Stranger Things. The science fiction show was released on July 15th, and is set in the 1980s following the disappearance of a young boy from a small town in Indiana. Stranger Things includes many known actors such as Winona Ryder, but also includes many young kids actors who made the show extremely entertaining to watch!
2. Bones
Although this show has been on Fox since 2005, I find myself completely addicted to the characters Bones, Agent Booth and their trusted team of squints. Bones is about Dr. Temperance Brennan (AKA Bones), who is a very skilled anthropologist at the Jeffersonian Institute in D.C. and her partner Special Agent Seeley Booth works for the FBI's Homicide Unit. Together they work together with the other scientists at the Jeffersonian to investigate murders all around the United States. Bones currently has 11 seasons on Netflix and will be starting the series finale soon on Fox.
3. Quantico
The ABC series, Quantico, began in 2015 and soon after, season one ended it appeared on Netflix. The show follows FBI Agent Alex Parrish who is the main suspect for a terrorist attack on a terminal in Grand Central. Quantico has this way of hooking the viewer by showing flashbacks of Parrish while she was attending the FBI Academy and trying to piece together who actually committed the vicious attack. I personally finished all 13 episodes in two days, and no, I didn't get any homework done that weekend.
4. The 100
This CW show is set almost 100 years after a nuclear explosion destroyed almost everything and everyone on Earth. The show is somewhat based on a book series written by Kass Morgan and follows 100 teenage fugitives that were sent down to Earth from a space station, named the Ark, that is losing self-sustaining power and oxygen needed to keep the 2,400 citizens alive. The 100 switches back and forth between the characters struggling to stay alive on the Ark and the teens who are battling other shocking enemies on the ground. Season 1 and 2 are both on Netflix!
5. Scandal
Scandal is a dramatic and addicting political show that airs on ABC. The show takes place in Washington D.C. and follows Olivia Pope, her firm, her staff, the U.S. President Fitzgerald Grant, his wife First Lady Mellie Grant and the white house staff. Scandal is about the intimate relationship between President Fitz and Olivia Pope while also divulging into the secrets and scandals that coincide with the White House and the President of the United States. Seasons 1 through 5 are currently on Netflix!
6. One Tree Hill
One of my most favorite TV shows that I always find myself re-watching is One Tree Hill. Although this TV series ended in 2012, I think its important to recognize the greatness that was OTH and the amazing run it had for all of its 8 seasons. The show follows many different characters throughout its years but season one closely looked into the relationship between half brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott who hated each other. Season one is all about the characters journey through this small town and the love triangles between both the teens, adults and basketball. The entire series is on Netflix!
7. The Flash
The Flash is a superhero series on the CW that follows meta-human Barry Allen as he tries to understand and control his newfound superhero abilities. With the help of his fellow friends at Star Labs the Flash fights both criminals and others who have meta-human abilities to protect the citizens of Central City. Seasons one and two are both on Netflix!
