When I was eight years old, I felt my first heartbreak. Michael Jackson had died of undisclosed reasons, at the time, and next thing you know, I was sobbing on the floor. I was borderline obsessed with the King of Pop. I had the albums, t-shirts, a Wii game, and a book with special collectibles from his tours. Now, I was too young to know all about MJ and what he really did at the time, but all I knew was that I loved his music and I could sing almost every song and which number to switch to on my purple CD player to listen to a specific jam. Later that year, I remember going to a minor league baseball game in Gary, Indiana, Michael's hometown, and getting a picture next to the King's memorial at the park. In my young mind, I was not aware of the meaning behind some of his lyrics, but looking back I have noticed the importance of what he was saying.

You Are Not Alone

"Everyday I sit and ask myself, How did love slip away, something whispers in my ear and says

That you are not alone, for I am here with you, though you're far away, I am here to stay.

They Don't Care About Us

Somethings in life they just don't want to see, but it Martin Luther was livin', he wouldn't let this be

One Day In Your Life

One day in your life, you'll remember the love you found here. You'll remember me somehow. Though you don't need me now. I will stay in your heart. And when things fall apart, you'll remember one day.

Earth Song

Did you ever stop to notice, all the children dead from war. Did you ever stop to notice, the crying Earth the weeping shores.

Black Or White

I took my baby on a Saturday bang. "Boy, is that girl with you?", wes, we're one and the same. Now I believe in miracles. And a miracle has happened tonight. But if you're thinkin' about my baby, it don't matter if you're black or white.

You Rock My World

You rocked my world, you know you did, and everything I own I give. The rarest love who'd think I'd find, someone like you to call mine.

Man In The Mirror

I'm starting with the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways. And no message, could have been any clearer. If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and then make a change.

Bad

Well they say the sky's the limit. And to me that's really true. But my friend you have seen nothing. Just wait 'til I get through

I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You

Each time the wind blows, I hear your voice so, I call your name. Whispers at morning, our love is dawning, heaven's glad you came. You know how I feel, this thing can't go wrong, I'm so proud to say I love you.

Human Nature

Get me out, into the night-time. Four walls won't hold me tonight. If this town, is just an apple, then let me take a bite. If they say why, why, tell 'em that is human nature.

In The Closet

There's something I have to say to you. If you promise, you'll understand. I cannot contain myself, when in your presence. I'm so humble.

There is no denying that Michael Jackson was the King of Pop. His music impacted people around the world with many different backgrounds. His death before his final tour was devastating to many people around the world. Long live the King of Pop.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
