If you're like me, you HATE the majority of the songs on the radio. So, with the help of Spotify, I have been working to curate the perfect summer playlist. While it is still ever-growing, here are a few songs that are currently on my 2018 summer playlist:

1. La Luz by Coastal and Jackie Mendoza

Spotify

This song's bass and vocals is bound to get you moving. It's currently my dancing-in-the-shower song.

2. Biking by Krsraga

Spotify

This song is the perfect song for sitting around with friends on a late night.

3. Sum of My Cares by The Long Faces

Spotify

With such a jazzy feel, I love listening to this song with my windows rolled down when I'm running errands around town.

4. Cold Air by Fyfe

Spotify

This song is on the shorter side at 2:55, but it's still a bop!

5. Moments by JABS

Spotify

The guitar in this song gives such a beachy vibe that it's a must listen when you've got your toes in the sand.

6. Night Ride by The Growlers

Spotify

The chorus in this song is bound to get stuck in your head when lounging around your house.

7. Holiest by Glass Animals and Tei Shi

Spotify

This is my favorite song at the moment. It's my go-to song when I'm coming back from work late at night. It seems to take me to a different headspace, one where I'm hopelessly in love with some sultry stranger.

8. Being No One, Going Nowhere by STRFKR

Spotify

This is the perfect song for driving down empty roads on summer nights.

9. What's Your Secret by Jasper Bones

Spotify

THE perfect bubble bath/relaxing/you-day song. This song always calms me down. I can honestly listen to this song on repeat for hours.

10. Piledriver Waltz by Arctic Monkeys

Spotify

Every time I listen to this song, I feel like I'm in a movie and this is the soundtrack that plays in the background (am I the only one that does that?) Also a great song to listen to while lounging by the pool.

11. Swimming by Lunar Vacation

Spotify

This is a song to listen to when your summer crush breaks your heart, or anything of the sort happens. Even with the sunny weather, everyone needs a good sad song they can mope to every now and then.

12. Petals by Bibio

Spotify

This is the newest song I recently started to listen to. Yet another great song to listen to wrapped in a blanket, sipping tea or coffee, listening to the rain pelt the windowsill on a particularly wet day.

13. The Reservoir by Small Forward

Spotify

Here's a great coffee-in-the-morning type song--if you're up before the temperature hits eighty!

14. Colored Emotions by Night Moves

Spotify

For those lucky enough to have a screened-in porch, this is the song to unwind to after dinner while listening to the cicadas.

15. Runaway (U & I) - Yacht Club Remix by Galantis

Spotify

Are you on the way to a concert/music festival and want to be pumped up? This is the song for you! I think it is physically impossible not to dance to this song.

16. Million Miles Away by Washed Out

Spotify

This is such a lovely song for if you find yourself around a city.

17. Make Me Your Queen by Declan McKenna

Spotify

This uber cute song is perfect for when you find yourself relaxing by the lake with close friends or family.

18. Headphones by Walk the Moon

Spotify

Need a song that you can head-bang to? This is the one. Nic Petricca's vocals and insane guitar riffs are killer and will definitely get you bobbing your head.

19. King of the Clouds by Panic! at the Disco

Spotify

This song is from Panic!'s new album "Pray for the Wicked" and, like all of their songs on this album, this one is destined to be added to your playlist

20. I Fall in Love Too Easily by Caleb Belkin

Spotify

This song mixes my two favorite things: Chet Baker's velvet voice and a modern beat. I love when people find ways to fuse the old with the new, and this song is the perfect example of that.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
