Spring break means going home, which translates to REAL FOOD. Everyone is thankful to be home again and to take a break from dining hall food for the week.

No one is really going to miss that undercooked rice or the mystery meat they serve.

Instead, here are some foods you actually missed...

1. Pizza, pizza, pizza

The biggest pizza debate: New Jersey or New York. Either way, pizza is pizza. You can't really be too picky after seeing the pizza they serve in the dining halls... or their attempt at pizza...

2. Bagels

You already know my first stop in the morning is to my favorite bagel place where the workers already know my order... considering I basically live there when I'm home. Nothing says welcome home like a warm, toasted bagel.

3. Diner food

Diners are the definition of home. Period.

4. Taylor ham, egg and cheese

Depending on where you are from it could also be known as pork roll but honestly, food is food no matter what it's called. Whatever I am served that didn't come from the dining hall, I will not question it.

5. Something from your favorite bakery

That's right. I come home to be spoiled and eat whatever I want to. So I'll have a small cake, three cookies and a couple brownies.

6. Ice cream

I love coming back to see that my favorite ice cream shop is open for the season. You can find me there every night of the week.

7. Anything your mom cooks

Duh, that's like three-fourths of the reason I'm always so excited to come back.

8. Your favorite restaurant

We all have that one place where we NEED to go right when we get home and NEED to go right before we go back.

9. Anything that isn’t frozen

College has given me my fair share of frozen pizzas, waffles, chicken nuggets and anything else that I can keep in the refrigerator that will assure me that I won't go hungry for

more than five minutes.

10. Something other than mac and cheese

You know when you eat something every day to the point where one day just the thought of it makes you queasy? Yeah, I need a break from it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
