If you are reading this you have more than likely faced the struggle of trying to pick a horror movie without completely wasting your time on the lousy ones that engulf Netflix. There are only so many movies on there that we already know are good and have heard of 1000 times. When you get through those then you have to search for the quality lesser-known ones, which can be difficult and frustrating. Seriously though, who wants to waste their time watching the third sequel in the "Jaws" movie series where apparently sharks have developed the desire to take vengeance as well as the ability to swim from Massachusetts to the Bahamas in a matter of days? That is an hour and a half of my life I cannot get back so the only thing left to do now is save you from losing your valuable time as well. Without further ado, in no particular order, here are five underrated horror movies currently on Netflix.

1. Dead Snow/Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead

I know, I know, this is two movies. I'm trying to not cheap out on you here. So, one of my personal favorites, Dead Snow is one of those movies that can lay claim to a cult following. Both movies are each about an hour and a half of Nazi zombie fun where this time the Nazi zombies are the one causing the carnage. With plenty of gore, laughs, and an epic fight between a Nazi zombie and a Russian Zombie, this duo of movies is sure to be a pair you will not soon forget, and may even leave you desiring a second view.

2. Indigenous

Next on the randomly ordered list is a movie I recently viewed that was a pleasant surprise. It uses the classic plotline of a handful of college-aged men and women who travel to an exotic location and venture to a place that the locals constantly warn them not to go into. I will not spoil the monster they encounter as I am not concerned with you figuring out what it is based on the picture above. With a fine plotline, solid special effects/makeup and only a few frustrating moments, you will not be disappointed with this choice.

3. V/H/S 1 & 2

Yes, I am listing two movies as one again. I want to inform you as best as possible. Using two movies at once from the same series would be too easy. So simply put, in both films a few guys come across some VHS tapes which act as several shorter films of found footage. If you enjoy a quick 20 minute plot before your short attention span causes you to lose said attention, these films are for you. Whether its a short about a biker becoming a zombie and attacking a kid's birthday party or a girl who has a monstrous personality under that shy exterior, these are fun films with something for every horror fan.

4. From Dusk Till Dawn

Up until now I've tried to avoid the more well-known/mainstream movies. Who needs to be told that "The Exorcist" is a great horror movie? I can just hear the "no shit" lines coming at me right now. Even still, I think this movie is underrated and deserves recognition. With crazy looking Mexican vampires (including Danny Trejo), fun performances by Harvey Keitel, George Clooney, and Quentin Tarantino and more than enough heads being splattered, you should be able to enjoy this movie immensely.

5. Anti-Christ

To round things out, we will go with one of the most disturbing movies of all time, "Antichrist". After the death of a couple's son, the couple being played by Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, the couple takes a trip out into the woods as a way to grieve for the death of their son. While out there things take a turn for the weird in the way of psychological problems and graphic personal mutilation this movie is not for the faint of heart. But if you're feeling bold, then by all means, have at it.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
