I have seen so many plays and musicals over the years, it was so hard to just pick only five, but here they are:

  1. Beauty and the Beast: This was the first broadway show that I ever saw, so it holds a special place in my heart. I can remember how excited I was to go see it and the shirt that I bought from it. It was such a magical night.
  2. Phantom of the Opera: I saw this as a graduation present from elementary school. I bought a sweatshirt that glowed in the dark. The music in this show was my favorite part, it still enchants me to this day.
  3. Avenue Q: I randomly saw this show and immediately fell in love with it, the music, the hilarious one liners, I love it because it is so real and perfectly captures the real world.
  4. Next To Normal: The raw emotion of this show, I was in tears for most of it. It is one of those shows that brings you to such a dark place but then at the end pulls you right back out.
  5. The Lion King: I loved this movie as a child, so I had to go see the broadway production. I loved the colors, the costumes, and of course the music. Going to see this show was such a cool and different experience. I got to see all of the characters that I loved in the movie brought to life in a totally new and different way.

These are only some of the many shows that I have gotten the chance to go see. Each one of these holds a special place in my heart. There are many others that did not make the list but they are still important to me. Enjoy this list and think of some of your favorites!

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
