With Halloween quickly approaching, many couples are looking for a cheaper way to look spooky for the big night. Costumes bought from stores can easily be on the upwards of $100+, not including the accessories or shoes. As most people want to dress up with their significant other and have a good time, the cost can sometimes be a hindrance to how good their costume will look. Here are the top five do-it-yourself Halloween couple costumes on a budget!

1. Jim and Pam from "The Office"

This one is strictly for fans of the hit TV show, "The Office". Jim, Pam, and their relationship are necessary staples that make the show one to remember. Any fan of the sitcom knows just how cute Jim and Pam's relationship is, and also how easy this would be to do at home! Some simple khaki pants, a button-up shirt, a sweater, a skirt, and Pam's iconic Keds are all you need to build this duo. Average cost: free!

2. Dalmation Puppy and Fireman

This idea is super cute and simple! Of course, it works better if you have an actual fireman suit, but it can also be accomplished by a navy blue shirt and some red duct tape to make some DIY suspenders. For the female aspect of the costume, she could do an entirely white outfit or just a t-shirt with some black shorts. Black construction paper and tape would be needed to make the spots on her costume, and some rope to make a leash if you wanted to go that extra mile! Average cost: $5-$10 for tape and construction paper!

3. Deer and Hunter

This is a super fun costume, especially for hunters and their wives/girlfriends. With hunting season being at the same time as Halloween, items you would need for this costume should be at your local Walmart. Some face paint, camo gear (unless your significant other already has these items), and cardboard for antlers are all you would need for this costume! You can also spice this outfit up with a Nerf gun or tail for the deer. The average price for this costume: $10-$15.

4. Sports Player and Referee

Another cute and cheap option is the football player and the referee! Most guys have some kind of football jersey laying around the house and a referee jersey can be purchased at any sporting goods store. This costume is very versatile, playing off the idea that the jersey can be from any sports team, since all sports use referees. The average cost of this costume: $20-$30 (depending on if you have to go buy a jersey or the referee shirt).

5. Salt and Pepper

Last but not least, Salt and Pepper! This classic costume never goes out of style and is always a cute and simple idea. This is always a go-to for a cheap costume. If you do not want to go out and buy these costumes, some people have used white and black shirts with cut-outs of an "S" and a "P", and just taped them on to the shirts. This makes this costume option even cheaper! The average cost of this costume: $10-$15.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
