It's that time of the semester. The workload is getting a bit heavier, hefty, time-consuming projects are approaching and unflattering bags are beginning to develop under your sleep-deprived eyes. What you may need is a new jam to keep your spirits high! Here's a list of some of the best videos from female artists in 2016.
1. Fifth Harmony — "Work From Home"
This synth-pop single is the first to be released from the quintet's upcoming album "7/27." The video features the girls working on a construction site with some of the hottest male construction workers you've ever laid eyes on. The production value has definitely stepped up, making this one of the best music videos they've ever produced.
2. Beyoncé — "Formation"
The video celebrates Beyoncé's black heritage with stunning visuals, hard-hitting imagery and an elegant, period piece-inspired wardrobe. The single, coupled with her notorious Super Bowl halftime show performance, have become hot topics, challenging views on certain social, race-related issues.
3. Halsey — "Colors
This up-and-coming artist had been featured on Bieber's new album, "Purpose," and she's making a name for herself in pop music. The music video for latest single "Colors" stars "Teen Wolf's" Tyler Posey, a "Cruel Intentions"-inspired storyline and the house from the first season of "American Horror Story!"
4. Rihanna — "Work"
The Barbadian pop singer brings us back to her Caribbean roots with a reggae-style track, featuring Drake. There are two videos for the single, one taking us to a restaurant and bar named The Real Jerk, where partygoers are seen grinding and getting lost in the music, while Rihanna and Drake steal the dance floor. The other is set in a lounge with Rihanna dancing for Drake as the two are bathed in a candescent magenta light. There's no denying these two have amazing chemistry.
5. FKA Twigs — "Good To Love"
Twigs enchanted us once again with her ethereal vocals. The black and white video shows her tossing and turning in bed, wrapping herself in the sheets as she talks about the missing presence of a lover. The simplistic concept allows us to focus on the lyrics, while also appreciating her sensuality and passion.
