College: an educational institution or establishment, that also turns your life upside down, puts you in debt, and can be one of the best times in your life.

When you are first going to college, you'll probably be over whelmed and not realize how much stuff you actually need. So I am here to give you insight on what you actually need in college. Most of the time, we end up with way too much stuff, so it's nice to have some sort of a list. This is my Top Eleven Must Haves for college.

1. A Watch.

Not only are watches just nice to have for your "arm candy" but actually use them to tell time, when you forget to charge your phone or when it's buried in the bottom of your book bag, a watch will come in handy!

2. Small Bag (Other than your Book bag).

So on those days you have only 1 to 2 classes, and carrying around a huge book bag can get tiring. So it's always nice to have a smaller second bag. My personal favorites would be the Kavu bags, or maybe a small tote purse. So it's nice and simple but still does the job.

3. Raincoat or Umbrella.

This is a must have, you always want a raincoat or an umbrella. I always have both, and I always carry an umbrella in my book bag, because you never know. Especially if your campus is really big and you forgot a rain coat, you have a back up.

4. Huge T-Shirts.

Huge t-shirts always go really good with leggings and Nike Shorts (or shorts), for some reason this seems to be the "college style" for girls, but hey, it's simple, easy and cute. So you can't beat that.

5. Coffee.

Always have coffee (I don't even need to explain this). It will save your life.

6. Portable Charger.

I highly recommend getting one of these if you don't already have one, and I would order one off of amazon. You can get one for super cheap and great quality. This will be a lifesaver, when your phone dies during the day and you don't have time to go get your charger, or even charge it. This would be a must have for me, as an on-the-go college student.

7. Water Bottle.

Always have water with you, because water can also help you stay awake in class. I recommend having a reusable water bottle, because not only is it good for the environment, but it also cheaper. You don't have to keep buying water bottles. But water in general is a good thing to have with you during your day.

8. Headphones.

These will come in handy when you want to watch something on your phone or laptop and your roommate wants to watch something different. So having headphones is always nice, plus if you have a long walk to class, listening to music can make it more enjoyable if you are walking alone.

9. Lock Box.

No matter how much you may trust people, having a lock box is a good thing. If you go home for a weekend, or your roommate has people over that you don't know when you aren't there, you can lock up the things that you don't want people to have. I always put my food in one, just because of sanitary reasons. Lock boxes are a good thing, for many different reasons.

10. Medicine, and (of course) a cute case.

For people like me, who get random headaches, or start feeling bad randomly. Medicine is always a good thing to carry. I always have a little make up bag filled with different medicines such as Advil, Midol, and tums. You can get travel size too, that always makes it a little easier. For a just in case moment.

11. A Planner.

This is probably my number one thing, if you don't get anything on this list other than one this would be it. Buy a planner that best fits you, and a planner is a great investment. Depending on how much you want to spend, most of the ones I really like are around 36 dollars, but target has great planners for a great price that have the same things the more expensive ones do. seriously buy a planner, and use it. It will help you.

Going to college is one of the most stressful and fun part of your younger years. Having the stuff you need to succeed is important, but it's also knowing what you need. These are my top eleven recommendations, but make them fit you and what you may want. Happy College!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
