I know, couples costumes, ew. But as much as we hate them we also love them. They are disgustingly cute and I am guilty of forcing my boyfriend into one every year. We are also broke college students so buying one of those pricey costumes for one night is pretty much out of the question. Fear not, I am here to show you the best homemade couples costumes and where one can get the necessary supplies.

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy

Obviously, I forced him into being mermaid man and barnacle boy, which if I do say so myself was a pretty awesome costume. I mean what's better than dressing up as two old, retired superheroes? By the way, the answer is nothing! Well, I said I'd tell you where to get the stuff for the costume, so here it goes. The socks and my tee are from Target, along with the gloves (I know the wrong color, I tried.). The slippers are from Walmart and so are the green tights, the orange shirt is his high school shirt. And the shell bikini and M belt are cut from construction paper; I know, they're so good you thought we bought them.

Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable

So this one obviously isn't my boyfriend and me, but I found it on Pinterest. Cute, right? So Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable, the most iconic duo of the 2000s. This is a pretty simple costume to make. The shirts and pants can be bought at any store that sells shirts and pants, my go to would be Target for sure. And if you're not blessed enough to have red hair than a red wig would be needed, which can be found at Target as well.

The Stanley Cup and a hockey player

My personal favorite, the Stanley Cup, and a hockey player. This one is super easy to do if your other half is a hockey player, they're half of the costume is complete then. But for those of you that don't have a hockey player another half, then the jersey can be bought online or at any sports store. For the Stanley Cup part, all you'll need is a sparkly silver dress, some printer paper, silver spray paint and a bowl. All you need to do is print out the NHL logo onto the printer paper, cut it out and then tape it to the dress. Then spray paint the bowl with the silver spray paint and attach it to a headband. And there you are, a hockey player and the Stanley Cup.

Salt and pepper

This costume is for all you last minute couples. It is by far the easier to make and still looks super awesome. You just need jeans, an S shirt, and a P shirt. And if you can't find the shirts then just print out the S and the P and tape it onto the shirts. And that is how you will become salt and pepper.

JFK and Jackie O

This costume is iconic, JFK and Jackie O. You can't get more iconic than that and this is also a super easy costume to make. Almost all guys have a suit in their closet with a red tie and white shirt, so that half is taken care of already. For the Jackie O costume, you just need to choose any of her iconic outfits and find their modern-day copies, for this I would advise Target. Target literally has everything.

In my opinion, these are the top five costumes for couple costumes. They are super easy to put together, aren't super complex, and they are 100% guy friendly. So no complaining from them. I mean who doesn't want to be JFK or a hockey player. So here they are the top costumes and where to get the supplies. Happy Halloween!

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
