Although music has changed in styles and variations over the years, there is one thing that has remained the same, it's message. It can express the deepest of emotions like love or telling a story. My taste in music spreads between a wide variety of genres. With classic rock being on the top of my playlist lately, I present to the millennials some of the best songs your parents use to turn the stereo up to.
1."More Than a Feeling"- Boston
A romantic lover that has more than a feeling about the girl he loves. You can almost hear him as he slips away with her in the music.
2. "Rumors"- Fleetwood Mac
Okay, so this is actually an entire album, but every song is worth a listen. A product of emotional turmoil these classic lyrics speak of heartbreak and betrayal through a uniquely individual sound.
3. "Fortunate Son"- Creedence Clearwater Revival
For those free spirits rebelling against "the system" this song is full of protest against the government and the rules of law.
4. "Bohemian Rhapsody"- Queen
An internal struggle of someone’s mind gone mad with despair, this song will take you through the vast emotional galaxy of the human mind.
5. "Hotel California"- Eagles
Speaking of the vices of human kind, Eagles take on a culture of excess in California and America.
6. "Dream On"- Aerosmith
Live for today and dream on for tomorrow, this song makes you question just what it is like to get old and how one becomes old. Perfect, for millennials as we search for our path in life and "dream on" for the best in tomorrow.
So take a moment, open your playlist, and discover the music that is still speaking volumes today.
