It's that time of year where Hallmark, and tv channels like it, like to suck is in with festive themed movies with mediocre plots , writing and acting that we secretly know are too cheesy to handle. Yet something about Christmas time makes us a little more tolerant of low budget films starring people you have probably never heard of. Here are the top three of my newly discovered , ultra cheesy favorites that can be watched on Netflix.

1.) The Spirit of Christmas

By far the best of the three, this movie has it all, romance, mystery, a really hot guy who may or may not be cursed but is definitely a ghost. There's just so much to love in this movie, but I wouldn't recommend watching it if you don't handle jump scares well.

2.) A Christmas Kiss

A young, single twenty something, aspiring interior designer kisses a random guy in an elevator because she thinks she's going to die. She doesn't die, although she kind of wishes she had because the random guy turns out to be here evil boss's boyfriend. Que the Christmas drama!

3.) Merry Kissmas

Not to be mistaken for A Christmas Kiss, though both involve two strangers kissing on an elevator during the Christmas season. This one is probably the cheesiest of the three, and includes a character I've dubbed 'the evil version of LinManuel Miranda.' If that doesn't make you want to watch this, I don't know what will.

Happy reading, and Merry Christmas!

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
