Cars and trucks are what makes becoming an adult extra rewarding. The freedom to go anywhere we please and the ease of running errands and enjoying life on the road is multiplied when cars are added to the equation we call life.
Oklahoma State University, my own little heaven on earth, is home to five iconic vehicles that have a habit of repeating themselves within college-aged people (adults?). Here are the top five I have found around campus.
1. Jeep Wrangler
My best friend and his little sister played a game where they call out every Jeep Wrangler they see. In the town they grew up in, it wasn't that often that they would yell "Jeep" to each other, but when he introduced me to the game we've been playing it every day ever since. We can't go five minutes without saying there's a Jeep nearby. We'll be having a real conversation and he'll say "Jeep" like it was nothing then I'd groan in frustration that I didn't call it first and we'd continue on.
2. Chevy Silverado
OSU is an Agriculture school and I am well aware of that. It makes total sense for there to be dozens and hundreds of Chevy trucks zooming around.
3. Ford F-150
I'm not a huge fan of Fords, I thank my father every day for that, but I don't ignore them either. Being a truck that's known for farming and going off the beaten path every once and a while they're definitely at home here at OSU.
4. Dodge Challenger
For some unknown reason, the Dodge Challenger is my favorite car. It's a beautiful machine and I kind of freak out whenever I see one. There are quite a few on this wonderful campus and I will never complain about it.
5. Chevy Camaro
They're everywhere. I always think of Green Machine or something and my dad is a huge fan of Camaros.
Of course, there are vehicles here that are more efficient and that are more attainable for normal people but they are necessarily more "popular."
