So, for some reason, you have an obnoxious amount of time on your hands, or you're procrastinating most likely, and need something to do. You could go for a walk or read a book but let's be honest here, you're skimming YouTube for hours on end. Yet in the 3 1/2 hours you've wasted on that website, you still haven't watched anything interesting, thought-provoking, or remotely funny. And yes, I know that you've already managed to watch every funny cat and dog video the internet has to offer.
So to help you out, here are some of the absolute best YouTube channels to waste time on.
1. Ted Talks

Okay, so this isn't the most exciting of them all but this channel is more than worth checking out. If you're interested in learning something new, or even up to seeing the world in a completely different way, Ted Talks is for you. If you want to know how to chill out when you're stressed or even what's it like inside the mind of a master procrastinator, there's a Ted Talk about it. No matter what area of interest you have, you could spend hours watching these videos. And hey, at least you'll come out on the other side with a better perspective...maybe.
2. BuzzFeedVideo – The Try Guys Series

Love the idea of watching 4 very different guys trying all kinds of crazy things? This one is for you! From feeling the pain of childbirth (or as close to it as they can get) to trying on Valentine's Day lingerie and dressing in drag, these guys walk willingly (mostly) into the unknown. They'll bring a smile to your face and probably make you spit out your drink too. The ridiculous commentary they add to every video definitely helps.

Jenna Marbles, sometimes referred to as the Queen of YouTube, is just hilarious and entertaining. She's one of the most popular YouTubers out there and it's insanely easy to fall into a black hole on her channel - so be warned. Plus, there's some dog videos here you may have missed.
4. Smosh

Remember these guys? Smosh (aka Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla) has been around since 2002 and I personally was obsessed with them way back when. Even now, they haven't lost any steam. They run multiple YouTube channels now and are just as fun to watch as they were back then. Because of the age of their channel, they have a ridiculous amount of content for you to lose yourself in. So go ahead and watch their videos from oldest to newest and enjoy the ride! And for nostalgia's sake, here's the first video they ever uploaded.
5. Dude Perfect

What's better than watching a bunch of guys perform insane stunts? These guys do things like playing a real life version of warships and doing crazy trick shots. They also bring a random panda along to help them out...for some reason. They have a few hundred videos so you should probably get started.
6. Grace Helbig

If you're looking to waste your time watching someone who is gorgeous, equally as funny, and just as disorganized as you, Grace is the gal you're looking for. She's best known for taking normal channel video ideas, like cooking and reviewing fashion, and making them really really funny. Trust me, you won't regret watching this channel.
7. Jacksepticeye / Markiplier / PewDiePie

Okay, I know these are three different YouTubers but I'm just going to lump them together. All of these guys are gamers and they all dominate YouTube right now. There's definitely a reason for that and they're all worth watching. BEWARE - these guys all have black hole channels that will devour you and your precious time.
- Markiplier, the red-haired one, is best known for his Five Nights at Freddie's series, being overly emotional, and hosting charity live streams. He's also made some very stupid but hilarious videos like - you guessed it - this cat video. He recently hit 15 million subscribers. Oh yeah, and he thinks space is really cool.
- Jacksepticeye, the green-haired lad, is an Irish gamer best known for his adorable personality. He's constantly praising his fans and has by far one of the most positive comment sections, which as you can guess, is really difficult to accomplish. While he's the newest of the three gamers he's reached popularity very quickly. He's currently around 12.8 million subscribers. He's known for quite a few games but gained a lot of subscribers because of Papers Please, so that's a good starting point.
- And last but not least, PewDiePie is a must watch. He's known to be controversial, extremely funny, and the best at coming out with new content. He currently holds the spot for the most subscribers on YouTube ever at *almost* 49 million. His most popular video is a montage of him playing games and his reactions. With almost 3,000 videos uploaded, you can start anywhere on his channel and easily get lost.
So there are the top 7...basically 9...YouTube channels for you to waste time on. Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite. Enjoy procrastinating!
