Top 7 Restaurants In Oxford, MS

As summer winds down and fall comes back around that means move in and heading back to our college towns, which would be Oxford, Mississippi for me. Ox is a very unique college town that compares to no other- including the food. Oxford is home to the Ole Miss Rebels, but there is more to us than just football, our restaurants. We're lucky to have some amazing restaurants here. So here are my top seven in Oxford:

1. Soulshine Pizza

Soulshine is known for their wonderful pizza and laid-back atmosphere. It's an Oxford favorite. You can't go wrong with picking something on the menu because it's all so good. You will most likely find a wait if you go during dinner time or after church on Sundays.

2. Oxford Grillehouse

Oxford Grillehouse is a hit in town; located in the heart of the Square, it is a favorite and is always poppin'. Their steak and mac n' cheese is a must when you go.

3. Taylor Grocery

Don't let the outside turn you off, this place is the best. Expect a wait though. It's only opened Thursday-Sunday. Also, it's one of the most popular places in the Oxford area. For sure a hit when parents come in town. Oh, their cheese fries are a gift from God. They're delish.

4. Big Bad Breakfast

More commonly known just as BBB. Expect a wait as well. Their menu is long but everything on it is beautiful and delish. For sure worth the wait.

5. Bouré

Bouré is a good place if you want a burger or just good food. If you want a view, then eat on the upstairs porch; it offers a nice view at night and over looks the bars.

6. AJax

Ajax is the best soul food in Oxford hands down, no question about it. Ajax is a tiny restaurant but man it's so good. If you need some of grandma's cooking or a home cooked meal, this is the place to go.

7. Casa Mexicana

BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN OXFORD. I probably go here twice a week... it's so good and has good prices (which is always nice). Be sure to get a large cheese dip. It's SOOOO good.

Those are a few of my favorite restaurants in Oxford. If you're new to Ox go try one. I can assure you that you'll love which ever one you go to!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
