Every nation, even state, has their own delicacy. Long Island, NY's just happens to be food. You've probably heard it a thousand times before but surprisingly we're actually known for more than just our pizza and bagels (although this list will obviously include them). Here's the best seven foods Long Island has to offer.

1. A Cold Cheese Slice (Little Vincent's)

If this sentence means nothing to you yet you claim to live here, get educated.

2. A Lobster Roll (The Lobster Roll, Amagansett)

Summer isn't right without stopping here for a delicious lunch on the way to and from Montauk.

3. Guacamole (Besito)

AKA the most perfect table side guacamole ever made!

4. Buffalo Chicken Pizza (La Piazza, Plainview, Merrick or Melville)

If you haven't had one, what are you still waiting for)

5. A BEC (literally anywhere but preferably Bagel Chalet, Seport or Family Bagel)

God himself crafted BECs and apparently handed down that talent to New Yorkers.

6. A Burger and Fries (All American, Massapequa)

Easily the best burger you've had is really only a short drive away.

7. French Toast Bites (Brownstones, Amityville)

We don't know when we'll be able to experience the magic again since it's still closed from their fire but we're praying soon.

To be honest there's really no place on Long Island where you can go that the food will be bad. We're a magical land filled with some of the best restaurants full of awesome dishes, coffees, milkshakes, beverages, and other hidden menu gems. These are just to name a few!

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement.
