The Halloween season is upon us. It's officially time for Tim Burton, pumpkin spice lattes, apple picking, decorations, and—let's not forget— Disney Channel original Halloween-themed movies! From Casper Meets Wendy to HalloweenTown (yes, all four of them), these are the top 7 Halloween movies every kid born from 1993-1999 probably remembers.

1. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), directed by Tim Burton

Easily the most notable Tim Burton film to date, and a double holiday classic based on a poem Tim Burton wrote and illustrated, "The Nightmare Before Christmas." As kids, my friends and I loved watching this from September 1st to December 25th, and who could forget the fantastic score composed by Danny Elfman! (Psst: click on the photo to see some fun facts about the movie and its production from Oh My Disney!)

2. Hocus Pocus (1993), directed by Kenny Ortega

A Halloween classic from the same director who gifted us High School Musical! This is one of my personal favorites shown on Freeform's (previously ABC Family) 13 Days of Halloween movie special.

3. HalloweenTown (1998), directed by Duwayne Dunham

For kids born and growing up around the late 90s, this is a timeless classic, even with the cheesy acting. The movie followed with three sequels: HalloweenTown II: Kalabar's Revenge, HalloweenTown High, and Return to HalloweenTown; making it the perfect movie marathon for post-apple picking and cider donuts!

4. Casper Meets Wendy (1998), directed by Sean McNamara and Bruce McCarthy

Starring a young Hillary Duff, this movie is a classic for the Halloween season. Although it only received a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it makes for a great throwback before Hillary became Lizzie.

5. Twitches (2005), directed by Stuart Gillard

Starring Tia and Tamara Mowry, the twin witch story is a DCOM classic, and even though it's not necessarily Halloween-themed, it's still part of Freeform's 13 Days of Halloween special! Plus, it's a great Disney throwback for marathoning with Twitches Too (2007).

6. The Corpse Bride (2005), directed by Tim Burton

My personal favorite Halloween movie, and favorite movie ever, this Tim Burton movie is a great follow up for anyone who loves The Nightmare Before Christmas (and let's be real, who doesn't?!) The score, composed by Danny Elfman, gives the same creepy but beautiful sound that we all know and love; plus, the piano duets are to die for!

7. Edward Scissorhands (1990), directed by Tim Burton

Another Tim Burton and Danny Elfman classic that has the perfect mix of creepy and fascinating. Starring Johnny Depp, this almost-30-year old Halloween movie has become a must-watch during the fall season.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
