The women of Harry Potter are some of the best around, they are badass witches that fight until the end, but still have a caring heart. Here, I present my top six witches from the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Oh, and possible spoilers ahead, read if you dare.

1) Madam Pomfrey

Madam Pomfrey, the badass school nurse that didn’t take shit from anyone. While I’m drawn to her because her occupation, I love her even more because she stands for her patients needs. No matter who is in her way, they better get out quickly or face her wrath. She even shooed away Professor Dumbledore so her patient could rest.

2) Lily Potter

There would be no Harry Potter story if it were not for Lily’s love. She knew she had something very precious to protect, her son. Then and there she stood up to the most powerful dark wizard to save her son’s life, and I believe that’s something to recognize.

3) Minerva Mcgonagall

Oh, what can I say about Minerva other than she is absolutely fabulous. She is one of the many motherly figures Harry has in his life. She is stern yet incredibly caring for those close to her. Also, she wasn’t afraid to get sassy when she needed to.

4) Fleur Delacour

Many people will wonder why I include Fleur Delacour on this list, and to those people, I say go read the books again. Fleur was a Triwizard champion; she fought through the tasks just as the others did. Then she took on another challenge, becoming Molly Weasley’s daughter in law. Molly was far too harsh on her, but she came to be loved by the family when proving her love for Bill when he was attacked.

5) Nymphadora Tonks

Have you even given birth to a baby and then a week later went and fought in a wizarding war? No? I didn’t think so, please step aside. Nymphadora Tonks is what we all aspire to be, brave, smart, and sassy all wrapped up in one. She was a talented auror under the instruction of Alastor Moody and went on to sacrifice herself for a better world for her son.

6) Molly Weasley

Yet another one of Harry’s mother figures in the story. Molly gave Harry the love he had never received in the Dursley home and I’m sure made Lily cry tears of joy that her son was taken care of. Oh, and she killed Bellatrix, so she’s pretty hardcore.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
