The Top Six Things I Am Most Grateful About Having You In My Life

Throughout my whole life, if you knew me, you would know I'm extremely stubborn and opinionated. Before I even learned how to talk I had a strong opinion and I had no way to say it out loud so I expressed my opinions through biting, scratching, hitting, kicking, head-butting, et cetera. As soon as I started talking though, I would not stop! I always had an opinion about every little thing. Not very many people can handle a personality like that, but those who can have still stuck around.

I am so grateful to have all the amazing people that I have in my life. I especially wanted to thank my boyfriend for everything he does for me (and he certainly does a lot for me and my family). We've been together for almost five years now, since my freshman year of high-school. Our life together hasn't always been perfect, but I am overjoyed to have been able to spend it with him.

1. First, thank you for absolutely everything you do.

I don't know what I would do without you! Seriously, you do so much for me and my family and I don't think I've said it enough and I mean it. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

2. I'm sorry that I'm not perfect.

I make mistakes, but I know that whatever happens we can get through it together. You prove that to me even when I've made horrible mistakes and you still sit next to me at the hospital, holding my hand, telling me that you love me and taking care of me no matter what.

3. Thank you for being just like a part of the family.

If you haven't noticed before, you are definitely a part of the family. Including the sudden inappropriate outbursts made in public by the rest of our crazy family (and you can't say you don't tag along because you do!)

4. I am so glad that you coupon!

Not everyone has the patience to do this and you most definitely get your money's worth (and so does the whole family) even though I know it kills you to give all of your products away. I am so thrilled that you are willing to give up a big majority of your products to the HOPE House for the American Cancer Society.

5. Thank you for letting me be just as much a part of your family as you are to mine.

I love that we have all been able to get so much closer over the last few years. Our families are almost complete opposites of each other, but we both fit in! Let's just say that family vacations can unquestionably change a person's views on another person.

6. I'm glad that you loved me even when I wasn't very lovable and still continue to love me every day.

I know that I am stubborn, but so are you! Sometimes we butt heads, but at the end of the day, I know that you'll always be there for me no matter what. Thank you.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
