Within the past year, highlighting has become a mandatory step when you get ready. Whether it's creme or powder, blinding or a subtle glow from within - it's a must! It completes a look and makes you look radiant and have healthy skin. But there are so many out there it can be hard to find ones that are actually good.

1. OFRA Cosmetics - Rodeo Drive ($35)

This white gold highlighter is perfect for many skin tones. It can be applied lightly for a natural sunny glow or applied heavy handed for a blinding glow. It applies smoothly with a metallic finish no matter how much is applied.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills - Glow Kit ($40)

ABH was one of the first brands to release game changing, blending highlighters. They have individual highlighters but are most known for their quad palettes. All of their Glow Kits are limited edition but all are the same high quality of creamy, blending highlighters.

3. Dior - Nude Air Luminzer Powder ($56)

This highlighter is defintely on the pricier side, but the pay off is worth it. It comes in four different shades so there is a shade for every skin tone. It is light weight and blends effortlessly into your skin and looks like a glow from within. It glides onto your skin without picking up on any texture no matter how much you put on; it will give you a healthy, radiant glow.

4. Marc Jacbos - Dew Drops Gel Highlighter ($44)

This insanely popular liquid highlighter is the first of its kind because of the gel like formula; it applies smoothly and gives a radiant glow without being to unnatural which makes it perfect for body highlighting (shoulders, collar bone). It currently only has one shade, Dew You? (out of stock), but anticipate more shades in the future.

5. Wet'n'Wild - MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($5)

Yep, a drugstore highlighter that works just as well, if not better, than highend ones. This was the first affordable highlighter that made us visible to space and gave all other brands a run for their money. They recently released for shades to include more skin tones; there is currently six blinding shades.

6. Maybelline - FaceStudio Master Chrome Highlighter ($10)

To keep up with all the other brands, Maybelline had to step up their highlighter game, then they hit us with their first metallic highlighter. It is a beautiful, rich true gold that will give you golden glow.

Highlighting is such a universal thing, from highly metallic to a soft gleam; we all rock it! No matter your budget, there are high quality ones out there!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever.
