It’s that time of year again. Midterms are upon us, which means hours of studying, catching up on all the readings you didn’t do earlier in the semester, and the occasional mental breakdown. If you need a study break after memorizing the anatomy of the eyeball, these videos are a great way to detox. Studies show that laughing not only reduces stress, but can actually improve short-term memory, creativity, and problem-solving ability. So stop wasting time and start watching!
Author’s note: I initially intended to make this a top five list, but I couldn’t resist including the last one.
1. James Corden Goes to the Kosher Butcher
By now, I’m sure most of you have seen James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke videos featuring celebrities like Adele and Justin Bieber. (If you haven’t, go to YouTube right now and watch them. You’ll thank me later.) But this lesser-known video finds Corden taking on a shift at a Kosher butcher. You’ll wish your trips to the butcher were this exciting.
2. Jim Gaffigan’s Views on Kale
There’s nothing like watching Jim Gaffigan riff on the latest superfood. Even if you love the stuff, you’ll find yourself nodding along with everything Gaffigan says.
3. John Krasinski on Lip Sync Battle
If you haven't seen John Krasinski lip sync to the Tina Turner classic "Proud Mary," you haven't lived. Krasinski goes all-out, channeling his inner diva by wearing a magnificent sequined dress. Yes, you read that right.
4. Ellen’s Hidden Camera Prank featuring Dennis Quaid
We all know and love Ellen, and this is one of the all-time funniest videos from her show. Ellen sends actor Dennis Quaid to a Starbucks and speaks to him through an earpiece, instructing him to pretty much make a fool of himself. Hilarity ensues.
5. Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis & Barak Obama
This amazingly uncomfortable encounter between Galifianakis and President Obama was released last year to promote the Affordable Health Care Act. Galifianakis holds nothing back. Seriously. Nothing. (And yes, it’s a joke.)
6. Word Sneak with Jimmy Fallon & Steve Carell
Watch Steve Carell seamlessly incorporate the word “pantaloons” into conversation. The man is a comic genius.
