Top 6 Dating To Do's in Owasso, Oklahoma

From nervous high schoolers to very nervous adults, dating has never been easy. Let me give you some ideas on some pretty cool dates that you can do right around here in Owasso, OK!

1.) The AMC Owasso 12

A common date night for any couple would be a movie. This movie theatre has been in town for over a decade. There's plenty of flicks to choose from and tons of restaurants within walking distance, it would make for one traditional dinner/movie date.

2.) Cherry Berry

A delicious frozen treat that's some-what healthy is great during the warmer days of Oklahoma weather. And with tones of flavors and toppings to mix and match, you can create some awesome concoctions!

3.) Centennial Park

Something that's beautiful all year, and actually the cheapest thing on this list. Make a homemade lunch, or grab coffee from the nearby Kum and Go and take a walk around the park. You can watch the sunset or do a bit of stargazing too! There'll also be plenty of photo ops too- like at one of the bridges or the swing sets! You could also feed the geese, but that's totally optional.

4.) Donut shops!

Most are small businesses that are locally owned. I know the one on Main Street has delicious donuts would make the perfect morning breakfast date! You wouldn't even have to change out of you pajamas for this one! Just put on a pair of shoes and your wallet.

5.) Memory Lane Tea

Everything I've ever heard about this place has been good. There's not many Tea rooms left in Owasso, so this would be a nice quiet little date. Especially if it's your first. It also would be as crowded as a Starbucks, and tea is better for you anyway....

6.) Lane's Bowling Alley

Because, why not! Do a double date and play with friends and you'll have fun for hours! A nice amount of competitiveness can be good for a relationship- just don't get too crazy. No one likes bloody noses on a first date! Plus, it's relatively cheap.

What about you guys? Can you think of any other top dates that you can do in Owasso?

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
