Everyone wants to be an adult, but the mere thought of adulting makes us shiver.

There are so many responsibilities that come with adulting, that it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Luckily we live in the age of technology, where there is practically an app for any and everything. As you start in your journey to adulthood consider downloading the following apps.

1. Google Calendar

This helps you keep track of everything you have going on and prevents you from overextending yourself. It’s a great place to set reminders for appointments, bills, and work. This works on both mobile devices and computers. There is even a reminder feature that will tell you exactly when to leave so you will make it to your destination on time.

2. Mint Personal Finance

Everyone needs a budget and sometimes we can get so busy that we forget to update our spreadsheets, but luckily there is Mint. You start by connecting your bank accounts and bill payment accounts to the app. Once that is done you create a monthly budget for yourself. Best part about it is that you can set reminder and automatic drafts for your bills. There are so many cost associated with adulting and this allows you to track your spending. Only downside is that you can’t track cash, so if you work in hospitality you must deposit the money if you want an accurate budget. This app breaks down card payments by locations and type, so you can see exactly where you should cut cost.

3. Tasty

Cooking and meal prep is a big part of adulthood, but for those who have had someone prepare their meals for them most of their life this can be a struggle. Tasty is an app that provides you with recipes for different occasions. It includes everything from meals to cocktails. The best part about the app is that every recipe features a video to make sure you are doing it right. My personal favorite is the one-pan dinners.

4. MyFitnessPal

If you are looking for a place to track your health and fitness progress look no further. MyFitnessPal allows you to set goals and with additional information it will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to reach those goals. It’s a food diary and a workout log all in one. This app is also compatible with various smartwatches and fitness bands.

5. RetailMeNot

6. Groupon

When you hit adulthood, it’s important to “get the most bang for your buck.” Why you may ask, because life’s basic necessities are expensive. Coupons, sales and discounts are music to anyone’s ears. RetailMeNot and Groupon are the best apps ever when you want to save money and still have a good time. They alert you of sales in major department stores and offer exclusive sales for local businesses.

With the help of these apps, you will have adulting down in no time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
