Top 50 Reasons To Get Excited For Fall!
vasare

I'm not really sure that I have ever come across a person who doesn't like fall, especially in New England. There is just something so nostalgic and magical about nature buckling down and getting ready to hibernate until the spring. The smell in the air, the leaves falling, baking pies with friends...can it get any better that that?

I don't think so!

Here is my list of the top 50 reasons that i personally cannot wait for fall!

50. Fall cleaning

I know, I know...who likes cleaning? But what better time to clean the house than in the fall with the windows open and the crisp breeze blowing through your sheer curtains?

49. Raking those leaves

Yes, it is work, but it also helps you burn some calories after that pumpkin pie...

48. Fall scented candles

Autumn woods, pumpkin pie, candy corn...they all smell amazing.

47. Autumn/ Fall Harvest decorations! I just got some for 50% off at Rite Aid!

46. Harvest Festivals!

I will attend them all if I can, if only I had unlimited money too... lol.

45. Hot Apple Cider

Or...Hot toddies (yum!).

44. Baking pies with friends or your children

Apple, pumpkin, custard...I can just smell at that wholesome goodness. Now I'm hungry!

43. Baking cookies and decorating them!

Homemade sugar cookies, heavily frosted and loaded with sprinkles... Hey, it's like a holiday treat; a couple won't hurt, right?

42. Plotting and planning your Halloween costume

If you are anything like me, then Halloween is a national holiday to you. You have probably already been searching online for the coolest, craziest and most unique costume you can find.

41. Back To School!

Whether you or your children are going back to school, you have to admit, the nostalgia of it can be very exciting.

40. New School Supplies

Um, who doesn't love the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil and new trapper keeper? (OK, maybe not the trapper keeper...I loved those things...but a notebook will suffice in its place).

39. Chunky Sweaters

Let's be real, I live in these things until May

38. Knee High Boots

I also live in these until May; everything goes with boots!

37. Lounging around on the weekends in your PJs and fuzzy socks

Homework in this attire, while my pies are baking? Yes please!

36. Corn Mazes

I love getting lost in these things, as long as the weathers good (lol).

35. Haunted Houses

The scarier the better for me, not so much for my son!

34. Apple Picking

Apple pie, apple sticks, apple muffins, baked apples, etc. You get it, right?

33. Pumpkin Patch Fun

The object is to get there as fast as you can, and pick the biggest, roundest shape you can (with no dents or marks preferably).

32. Carving Pumpkins

This is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the fall. Every year, my son and I attempt a more outlandish one than the year before.

31. Decorating for Halloween

Who doesn't love seeing a house all decked out for Halloween. I honestly have more Halloween decorations than any other time of the year combined.

30. Football!

Yes, this chick loves football. So much so that I joined a league to keep track of my teams.

Nothing quite like waking up on a Sunday morning and realizing you can go back to bed, firmly planted under the blankets.

New England has the best fall foliage to look at hands down!

24. Thanksgiving!!!

The one holiday where no one expects anything of you, and you and everyone around you gives thanks for their blessings in life.

23. Cranberry Season

The Cape, hands down, has the best, juiciest, and most tart cranberries ever. I can smell the cranberry orange muffins baking in my house already.

Am I the only one who still does this?

6. New seasons of your fave shows are coming back!

5. Alas, the Countdown To Christmas

For those Christmas crazy friends

4. Black Friday

I have never shopped on this day, but who am I to deny anyone a chance to shop?

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
