In comparison to the RNC, the week before, the DNC was expected to be much smoother and less outrageous. However, issues began pouring in since day one.
1. Wikileaks reveal.
In yet another email scandal for the Democrats, Wikileaks published thousands of emails between staffers of the DNC which discussed ways to undermine Bernie Sanders' campaign during the primaries. This gave evidence to the worst kept secret in the Democratic Party, the DNC preferred Hillary to win. The head of the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, insisted of being neutral until now and was booed by Sander supporters when she took the mic Monday of the convention. She promptly resigned as the chair, only to be scooped up later by Hillary's campaign.
2. Bernie gets booed
Despite the new revelations, Bernie still a job to do. That same day, Bernie addressed his supporters, urging them to support and vote for Hillary Clinton. That did not fare well as his own supporters booed him as he tried to calm them down while saying "this is the reality we live in."
3. Sarah Silverman rant
That same night, Sarah Silverman and Senator Al Franken took to the stage. The night's theme was unity and to display that, Franken (a Hillary Supporter) and Silverman (a Bernie supporter) tried to show that bruised feelings can heal. Silverman tried to explain that Bernie supporters can still rally behind Hillary but was booed by ardent Bernie supporters. She eventually went off script, "to the Bernie or Bust people, you're being ridiculous," which prompted even louder boos from the audience.
"You're being ridiculous"
4. Sander delegates stage fart in
To show their commitment to Bernie and defiance to Hillary and the DNC, delegates pledged to Bernie staged a fart in. Prior to Hillary's speech, delegates chowed down on beans and would let it rip during Hillary's acceptance speech to show what they really thought of her.
5. Hillary's critics
After Hillary's acceptance speech, some critics attacked her delivery instead of her content. Specifically, lamenting over her lecturing and aggressive tone with many saying that she should calm down and smile more. More of this to come if she is elected as President.
