ITN World News (Sky Channel 533)

The ITV equivalent of Sky News is a 24 hour news channel which highlights major breaking news and the most notable stories of the day. Currently, the headline-grabbing stories are the row over freedom of the press, as Jeremy Hunt demands action against the BBC. The growing rift between the Prime Minister and the International Development Secretary, Priti Patel. BBC World News (Sky Channel 531)

The BBC has a 24 hour news channel, and it is the UKs "sole surviving international broadcaster". It is intended to show the "rich tapestry of human life and social change" on Earth. On the channel, the BBC broadcasts "interesting and insightful content from the BBC archive, highlights from BBC News at Six, and the news features that will be key news stories for the coming day." The news from BBC News is also summarised in the "big-picture" news service, BBC One Overnight.

CNN International (Sky Channel 534)

CNN International is CNNs flagship news channel. It is presented from around the world by a mix of English and foreign correspondents. It covers the major stories of the day, such as the row over the freedom of the press, as Jeremy Hunt demands action against the BBC. It also provides its own take on stories such as the financial crisis and the crash of Russian's military plane Yayoins.

CBS News (Sky Channel 442)

CBS News is another 24 hour news channel covering major events from around the world. It is a leading US TV network, which carries the main broadcasts of all of its network news. They have hosted the most US Presidential election debates, and have done the most reporting on the 9/11 attacks. Although not a news channel, the news is also available on the CBS TV network.

Sky News (Sky Channel 441)

Sky News is the ITV equivalent of Sky News. The service is a short lived attempt at a 24 hour news channel, which aired from 24 April 2005. It was a joint venture between Rupert Murdoch's News International and Northern & Shell, the owners of ITN. It was replaced by Sky News on 3 May 2006, as part of the launch of Sky News.
