I love New York, and as a relatively new vegan, every time I go I seek out new spots to get some incredible food! I have compiled a concise list of my favorite locations that I try to revisit when I'm in the city.

1. John's of 12th Street

This is a great place to go if you are with non-vegans. They have been open since 1908 with a standard classic Italian menu, but if you ask them for a vegan menu they will give you a separate menu with tons of options! My favorites are the vegan garlic bread and ravioli!

2. By Chloe

This is on most vegan's radars as the owner gained popularity by winning Cupcake Wars with a vegan cupcake. She has the BEST vegan fast food, including sweet potato fries and burgers of course, and next door, Sweets By Chloe has all the vegan sweets your heart desires!

3. Confectionary

This little chocolate shop has french macarons and decadent chocolates that are all vegan! It is a bit on the pricey side but everything is so delicious and fresh. Every time I pick up some sweets there I feel that I've been transported to Paris!

4. Beyond Sushi

With multiple locations, including inside Chelsea Market and near Central Park, Beyond Sushi is your go to for extremely healthy and delicious sushi, dumplings, and other Japanese inspired treats! Everything there is so colorful and creative. My favorites are the rice paper wraps!

5. Cafeteria

This low-key 24 hour eatery is not all vegan but their vegan options are incredible! Try their veggie burger or the avocado toast. And if you're a juice lover like me, the green juice and ginger shot are fantastic! (Just be sure to ask for no ice in the juice.)

Of course there are countless other vegan restaurants in NYC, but check out one (or all) of these and you won't be disappointed!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
