It is crazy how fast technology is consuming the lives of not just adults, but children as well. I think there is an extent to letting children play with technology, but who am I to tell anyone how to raise their kids! However, my children will be coloring the cheesy coloring pages at restaurants, and not playing on my invisible cell phone…who knows where technology will be in 10 years. You never see children playing without a tablet or phone unless they are at school and have no choice to go and play tag. I think that toys are what helped me as a child to socialize and make friends. Childhood toys hold so many funny and adventurous memories that a cellphone can not do. I am not saying technology is bad because, let me tell you, it does come in handy when you are trying to find out those interesting questions (like the name of that cute actor in the movie you are watching). I am fortunate to have had some toys whether they came from a happy meal or was given to me as a gift it is what made my childhood. Now as an adult, if I ever see a toy at a store that I played with when I was a kid, I get so excited and laugh at the great memories behind it. Because of those great menories, I honor of my cool childhood toys.
Here are some toys most of us not so oldies can smile back at.
1.
This was probably the coolest toy that the universe has ever created, but having to put peds in one by one was something else.
3.
This is where every Beyonce started. Walking around singing through a plastic microphone and singing without a care in the world was life.
4.
Trying to draw a happy face, but all you could draw were squiggles and just ended up shaking it and erasing you master piece to start all over.
5.
If you never tackled a kid trying to get a hold of this sucker... you missed out on the best part! Who knew a T-Rex could come to life!
These are the toys that will never be forgotten, and will for sure be bought for my children. These are what put the hood into childhood. Lets bring back the toys America!
