Now that summer is quickly approaching, most of us find ourselves asking about things we can do to make this summer a memorable one. To help assist in answering that, here are 10 things you should do this summer if you find yourself in the DFW area.

1. Get Outside.

Klyde Warren Park, for example, is a great place to do that. There is a little bit of everything to spark the interest of just about everyone. From cool places to curl up with a book to outdoor games like checkers, chess, ping pong, putting greens and petanque, there are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors alone or with a group of friends. There is also an amazing dog park and running trail if you are feeling on the athletic side. There is also a great deal of food around, anything from food trucks to five star restaurants with an amazing view. You won't be disappointed. There are also always a ton of events going on, anything from yoga in the park to dance classes to slam poetry events to weekly movie nights.

The address is 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas, TX, and the park is open from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. every day.

2. Cool Off

White Rock Lake is an awesome place to do that. White Rock Lake is a 1,015-acre city lake located approximately five miles northeast of downtown Dallas. It features a 9.33-mile hike and bike trail, rental facilities, Dallas Arboretum, dog parks, picnic areas, piers to fish off of, boat ramps, and kayak concessions. This is an awesome place to cool off and get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of Dallas.

The address is 1500 Marilla St, Dallas, TX, and the park is open 24/7.

3. Get High Over The City

Expand your horizons from the breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views at the Reunion Tower. You can buy a ticket and experience the geo-deck, which is 470 feet up, or have dinner in the five-star restaurant that is over 50 stories up in the iconic glowing ball. The food is to die for, but keep in mind that it is on the pricey side and almost always requires you to book at least a week in advance.

The address is 300 Reunion Blvd East, Dallas, TX, and you can book your experience at http://www.reuniontower.com/.

4. Get A Little Sporty

Dallas is home to multiple different sports teams as I am sure you are aware. Go and show your support or at least just go to experience a game if you are not really into sports. Dallas is also near Texas Motor Speedway, if you enjoy watching people go in circles for hours. I truthfully am not a big sports person but love going to games just to people watch.

5. Do Something You've Never Done Before

Make this summer a memorable one by doing something you've never done before. Go to those art museums you've been wanting to see, check out those historic monuments and/or check something like bungee jumping off your bucket list at Zero Gravity. There is so much to do in this city, so experience it like a tourist.

Follow this guide and you will have unforgettable summer memories and awesome Instagram photos.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
